Joseph D. Valente, age 81, of New Eagle, formerly of Deep Creek, MD, Duquesne, and Munhall, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at home. Son of the late Daniel and Helen Valente, he was born in Homestead, on June 10, 1941. He was a retired Union Carpenter, a classic car enthusiast, an accomplished bowler with a 300 game, and a card player. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was the husband of the late Mary Karen (Weber) Valente. He is survived by his dogs, Sophie and Sadie; brothers and sisters-in law, Allan J. (Karen) Weber of West Mifflin, Louis (Debbie) Weber of West Mifflin, Don (Kathy) Weber of West Mifflin and Greg (Lynn) Weber of West Mifflin; nieces and nephews, Dana, Louis, Donald, Brian, Kalie and Mike; cousin, Kathleen Lucerne Rich of Florida; and life-long friends, Cliff, Lori, Danielle & his godson Cliff Grierson, Jimmy Babbi Family and Gaspare Porco Family. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR, where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. John McKenna, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery-West Mifflin, with Military Honors.
