Joseph Bartolomeo, age 72 of Clairton and Dublin OH, passed away peacefully at his family home, in Clairton, where he resided for the last year, with his wife and son by his side on Friday, September 9, 2022.  Born on February 7, 1950 in McKeesport, he was survived by wife Donna Jean (Alderson) Bartolomeo and his son Todd Bartolomeo.  He was preceded in death by his son Joey Bartolomeo, his parents Carmela and George L. Bartolomeo Sr., and his brother Bob Bartolomeo. His surviving brothers are George L. Bartolomeo Jr. of Blue Springs MO, and John Bartolomeo of NYC. A 1968 graduate of Clairton High School, and a 1972 graduate of I.U.P., where he received bachelor’s degree in education and played football. He graduated from Franklin University in Columbus Ohio with his master’s degree in business.  Joe worked as a manager at Busy Beaver in Monessen, where he won manager of the year, a car and many awards. He was promoted to regional manager at Busy Beaver Home Centers for the state of Ohio. He came home to PA and worked as Vice President for Stanford Home Centers and Magic 97 FM and B94 FM in marketing, public relations, outside sales. He retired from Fairfield Development at their Dublin, Ohio location, as Project Manager and Assistant to the East Coast Regional Manager.

Joe was active with youth athletics and was the Founder of Fall Baseball for Elizabeth Forward.  He loved coaching baseball for Elizabeth and throughout the Mon Valley winning multiple championships and coaching All Star Teams. He coached football for Clairton junior high for a few seasons and coached for Elizabeth Forward Youth Football, and ran the spread offense which was way before it's time. Joe loved “The Ohio State University Buckeyes.” Over the years, Joe had opportunities to attend many functions and meet with past and present Buckeye Football Players. Whether attending the game at The Shoe or on TV, he was their #1 fan. Over the years, the hosts of 97.1 “The Fan”; Anthony Rothman, and Bobby Carpenter, always conveyed their “get well” messages for Joe and mentioned that The Buckeyes lost a great man and a Big Buckeye Football Fan! A Memorial Service for Joe will be held on Friday September 30, 2022 at the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home 555 Fifth Street, Clairton, PA 15025 between 4 PM and 8 PM, to celebrate his life, because he is home at last. Arrangements made by the A.J.
