John E. Hein, age 97, of Forward Twp., passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired salesperson for Schumann Auto Parts in Pleasant Hills and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member and past Worshipful Master of the Franklin-St. John's-Trinity Masonic Lodge 221. Born July 19, 1925 in Evans City, he was a son of the late Edward and Audrey (Smathers) Hein and husband of the late Verna M. (Schumann) Hein. He is survived by a daughter, Lori Beth (Michael) Bloom of Jefferson Hills; son, Howard J. (Kathy) Hein of Forward Twp.; grandchildren, Tracey (Andrew) Herko of Forward Twp., Jennifer Hein of Forward Twp., Ryan (Alisha) Bloom of Seattle, WA, Joshua (Jolena) Hein of West View and Jeffrey (Chelsea) Bloom of Port Vue; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hein. No visitation or services are planned. Private burial in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
