James V. Filotei, 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1928 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Alex and Mary (Moffa) Filotei.  He was the husband of the late Mildred "Millie" Miscevich Filotei, who passed away August 28, 2021. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and for his service he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and The Philippine Independence Medal.  James went on to work for both Teledyne First Sterling and General Carbide Corp, where he was Chief Engineer of the plant. He was a member of Prayer Time Cathedral in White Oak. He enjoyed golfing and was also an award winning artist later in life. James was a member of The Loyal Order of The Moose, Lodge 236 in Irwin, American Legion Post 472 in Manor, and ISDA Lodge 57. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by daughter,  Marla Filotei; sons, Kevin Filotei and Ty Filotei; sister, Ida (Gordon) Head; cousins, Clara Ranier and Gloria Paluka; caregivers, Pam and Toni and numerous members of extended family.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dora Filotei and his brother, Gerald Filotei. There is no visitation.  A memorial service and inurnment with full military honors will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Westmoreland County Memorial Park, 150 East Side Dr, Greensburg, PA 15601 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY).  Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J.
