James "Jim" Stephen Lukacena, 71, of Boston, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He was born March 26, 1951 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Kapinus) Lukacena. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and had worked for the former Merritt Construction Co., and the former US Steel National Tube works. Jim collected watches and knives and loved to watch basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working in his garden and growing pumpkins, some of which were over 100 lbs. Twice, the former McKeesport Daily News wrote articles about him and his pumpkins and referred to him as “Farmer Jim”.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl Ann (Falcsik) Lukacena, daughters, Jessica (Dan) Boyd of Elizabeth Township and Julie (Tony) Moranelli of Jefferson Hills, grandchildren, Sydney Boyd, Samantha Boyd, Livia Moranelli and A.J. Moranelli, twin brother, John (Sherrie) Lukacena of North Huntingdon and brother, Michael (Maribel) Lukacena of Nederland, CO, sister-in-law, Janie Falcsik of Boston, a niece, Margo Groves of Land O Lakes, FL., and a nephew, Randall Reskovac of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his sister, Monica Reskovac. Friends are welcome Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
