Geroge W. Evans, Jr., age 67, of Port Vue, died October 19, 2022, at home. Born December 23, 1954, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George W. Evans Sr. and Dorothy (Billy) Evans. George attended Penn State University and started his career with Westinghouse. He later went to work with Fisher Body in West Mifflin for over 30 years as a die maker. George was a self-taught musician who could play the keyboard but especially enjoyed the guitar. He owned two boats and spent time fishing with friends at his favorite spot, Cross Creek Lake in Washington County. George was an amateur locksmith, held a pilot's license, rode motorcycles, and was a jack of all trades. He followed in his father's footsteps and received his HAM Radio License and even was able to use his dad's old call sign of W3HOB.
He is survived by a sister, Kathryn Evans, and an aunt, Ruth Konopka. George is also survived by cousins and many friends. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
