Louis G. "Geno" Zecchini, 102, of Buena Vista, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born June 27, 1920 in Herminie and was the son of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" and Mary (Venturelli) Zecchini. He was the husband of the late Florence (Swonger) Zecchini who died May 27, 2003. They were married December 6, 1939. Geno was retired from the former US Steel National Tube Works and was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. For his service, he received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal.
He is survived by his daughter, Dee (William) Beynon of Sutersville, son, L. John Zecchini of Elizabeth Township, grandsons, Timothy Zecchini and Thomas Zecchini, great-grandchildren, Anthony, Thomas, Kristin and Audra, great-great-grandchildren, Giada, Luca, and Aiden, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Gallo , brothers, Raymond Zecchini, Aldo Zecchini and Lawrence Zecchini and daughter-in-law, Susan Zecchini. Private visitation and service with Military Honors took place Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township.
