Nancy Jo Hawthorne, age 68, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died December 17, 2022. Born August 9, 1954, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Loretta (Baker) Pomycala and the wife of James L. Hawthorne.

Nancy retired from Publix Grocery store as a baker. She was a member of the Chillicothe First Church of God and the Christian Women's Connection. Nancy enjoyed baking, working in her garden, and traveling with her “Hawthorne Party of 11” to Disney, the beach and the mountains. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her sons, Matthew (Sarah) Hawthorne of Chillicothe, OH, and Timothy (Alicia) Hawthorne of Oviedo, FL; grandchildren, Aiden, Elizabeth, Ethan, Amelia, and Liam; brother, Gary (Peggy) Pomycala of Parma, OH; brother-in-law, Bill (Cindy) Hawthorne of Wilmington, DE; sisters-in-law, Barb (Jim) Lloyd of White Oak and Terry (John) Schultz of McKeesport; father-in-law, James Hawthorne, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Kathy Hawthorne.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at the Chillicothe First Church of God on Sunday, January 8 at 4pm.
