Walter E. "Wicky" Chuchla, age 73, of McKeesport, died February 17, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born October 13, 1949, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Alice (Johnston) Chuchla and the husband of Georgeann (Rose) Chuchla.
Walter retired from Allegheny County Public Works department, where he was a heavy equipment supervisor. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 and the former Secretary Treasurer of McKeesport Ambulance Service. Walter was a member of the former St. Mary Czestochowa Church, Mary, Mother of God Parish. He was also a member of the 11th Ward Club and the McKeesport Seniors. Walter enjoyed fishing, sitting on the beach, and classic cars. He owned a 1963 Corvette and a 1939 GMC truck. Walter's work family restored the 1939 GMC to pristine condition while he was in Mexico on a family vacation. This was a testament to the type of boss and friend Walter really was. He was truly loved by all and would do anything for anyone! His greatest joy and the light of his life were his grandchildren, and the time he spent with them.
In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by his daughters, Tiffany (Michael) Pausic of North Huntingdon and Nicole (Robert) Patterson of McKeesport; grandchildren, Ryan, Max, Emma Rose, and Lila Rose; sisters, Susan (Robert) Kauwell of Danville, PA and Wendy (Gene) Riazzi of McKeesport; nieces and nephews, Gillian (the late Chad) Rose-John, Jason (Megan ) Kauwell, Natalie (Brandon) Boehm, Holly (Nick) Johnston, Gina (Sean) Sieg; many great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family and friends.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 2 p.m. until the blessing service at 5 p.m., in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Serra Catholic High School, or McKeesport Ambulance Rescue Service.
