George  Stojanovic, 88, of North Versailles, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023. He was born May 2, 1935 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Peter and Mildred (Mrvos) Stojanovic . George was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township, The 11th Ward Welfare Association, White Oak American Legion and the Bowling League there, T & P Golf League at Butler's Golf Course, and the former Daily News 55 plus Softball Team. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates Fan, his greatest sports moment was at the 1960 World series game 7 witnessing Bill Mazeroski's winning home run.

George is survived by his wife, Edna I. (Arnold) Stojanovic, daughter, Cathy (Joe) Welsch of Seven Springs, son, Richard (Kathleen) Stojanovic of Myrtle Beach, SC., granddaughters, Adrienne (Benjamin) Denk, Megan (Timothy) Cummings, Lauren Lengel, and Alyssa (John) Sciancalepore, great-grandchildren, Jack Denk, Andrew Denk, and Alexandra Denk, Donovan Cummings and Edward Cummings and Mark "Jr" Lengel, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Alex "Leo". Nick, Samuel, and Pete Stojanovic, and William Stanton, and sisters, Mildred "Mim" Koto and Ann Obradovich. Friends are welcome Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral Service will be held at the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11 am. (Everyone please meet at the church). The Rev. Adam Stump will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Township.
