Scott Walker Brown

Strifflers Family Funeral Homes

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | November 16, 2023

Scott Walker Brown, age 63, of McKeesport, died on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on May 19, 1960 and is the son of the late George Walker and Joanne Wood Brown.

Scott was the beloved brother of Natalie (Brown) McKnight of Milton, MA and also beloved by his brother-in-law Christopher James McKnight and his nieces, Emily Jo McKnight and Rebecca Anne McKnight.

Scott lived and worked in many places throughout his life, including New York City; Washington DC; Annapolis, MD; and Prague in the Czech Republic. No matter where he lived, he quickly made devoted friends with whom he was always generous (“to a fault” some might say, but Scott never saw any fault in generosity). Scott never had much material wealth, but what he had he tended to give away.

Scott was an avid musician and songwriter, and he composed a series of songs inspired by his hometown McKeesport. He sometimes worked professionally as a musician, as he did in NYC and Washington, DC. In his last years, he was working in a low-income housing facility in McKeesport. His family will be holding a private service for him in Boston at Christmastime, as that was his favorite time of the year and always a time for them to be together.

Arrangements were handled by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
