Ruth June Evans Konopka, 93, of East McKeesport, PA and more recently of Lexington, NC passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 in the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC.
Born June 15, 1931 in McKeesport, PA she was the daughter of the late Dr. John W. Evans and Kathryn Karsnak Evans.

Mrs. Konopka was a graduate of McKeesport High School and attended Community College of Allegheny County. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for the steel industry and her husband George's radiator shop. Throughout her life she was committed to her family, working to support and deeply love her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, and singing in the church choir. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish (St. Robert Bellarmine Church) in White Oak, PA. More recently she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury, NC.
Preceding her in death is husband, George H. Konopka; brothers, Jack Evans, Bill Evans; and sister, Audrey Jendeski.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Gusty, Audrey Galagaza (Samuel), Karen Hudock, Ruthann Bertrand (James); son, George Konopka; grandchildren, Megan Lamorena, David Gusty, Erin Sheffler (Joshua), Nicole DeLoia McDowell (Chase), Gregory DeLoia (Brandon), John Hudock, Justin Hudock (Elizabeth), Angela Parker, Audrey Boyleston (Chris), Kimberly Dobson (Deon), Matthew Bertrand (Michelle), Elizabeth Bertrand, Nicholas Bertrand (Lucy); great-grandchildren, Bryson, Maximilian, Penelope, Olivia, Colton, Graylen, Brody, Jayla and Tyler; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday July 5, 2024 from 6-8PM at Summersett Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am Saturday July 6, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father John Eckert officiating. Burial will take place in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania services were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory.
