John R. Snyder, age 73 of Irwin, passed away at his home on January 8, 2025. He was born on May 9, 1951 in Braddock, a son of the late John R. Snyder Sr. and Irene Kisak Snyder. John was raised in the Byzantine Catholic faith, and he was a graduate of Braddock High School. He was self-employed as a general contractor. In his free time, John enjoyed dancing, and he also served as a DJ, notably for his wife's line dancing classes. He always looked forward to playing pool in the Shafton Firehall Billiards League, and he was an avid photographer. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years Debra Snyder, three brothers, Daniel "Squeaky" Snyder, Donald Snyder, and James Snyder, and two sisters Dianne Spoltore and Susie Newton. He is survived by his son, Andrew Snyder (and wife Heidi), his daughter Carolyn Andrejcak, one brother Darryl Snyder (and wife Theresa), two sisters Deborah Filus and Pamela Aleck (and husband Thomas), and three grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew "AJ", and Thomas. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 AM with interment to follow in Restland Cemetery in Monroeville. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
