Ethel Chomanics Hebda, 92 of North Versailles, died Thursday December 22, 2016 at her home. She was born June 19, 1924 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Duhony Chomanics. She was the loving wife and best friend of the late Ted Hebda who died July 18, 2008. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kathi (Jim) Lipesky and Cindy Donnelly, her 3 adoring granddaughters, Thea (Shauna) Lipesky, Kate (John) Kelley, and Jamie (Dan) Lipesky, as well as 4 adoring great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Caitlin, Josephina and Ted, and nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered for her baking (especially her lady locks), her joyful energy, and a marriage that was an example to all who knew her and Ted. The last of the 8 laughing, loving Chomanics sisters, she carried happiness with her everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Anne, Irene, Peggy, Betty, Dorothy and Jeannette and son-in-law, Jim Donnelly. Friends are welcome Friday December 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.
