David J. Urban, 67, of Glassport fell asleep in the Lord on Monday July 28, 2025 in AGH West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born on April 1, 1958, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Annie K. (Davies) Urban Mr. Urban was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and was a retired Electronics Technician of Bettis Power Plant. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Beloved husband of Susan J. Goodhue Urban, he is also survived by a son, Christopher (Tamara) Urban, a daughter, Joanne Urban, two brothers, Joseph Urban and Scott (Barb) Urban, a sister, Vicki (Tony) Tarli, and three grandchildren, Laney Urban, Maggie Urban and Miles Urban. Mr. Urban loved his family, but found immense joy in athletics by mentoring and coaching little league baseball. Serra High School Hockey, South Allegheny High School Hockey, Mon Valley Thunder Hockey. He was also an avid golfer and softball player and also an umpire for baseball for 50 years.
Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., 828 Richford Street Duquesne, Wednesday July 30, 2025, from 6-8P.M. and Thursday July 31, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8P.M. A blessing in the Memorial Home at 9:15A.M. on Friday August 1, 2025 followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10A.M. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Christiaan Kappes as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.
