Dorothy was always full of energy and could run rings around all of us.  She was there with a helping hand for her large extended family.  She was naturally interested in any project going on around the house and wanted to be involved.  She had a wonderful green thumb, participated in square dancing where she was Team Shirts & Skirts with William her husband, and was in a duck pin bowling league for a few decades.  She also was master of the electric skillet, making diners for her large family after a day on the river boating at The Elizabeth Boat Club will always be recalled fondly.  Putting herself through the John Lesko Beauty School in Charleroi, she ran her own hair salon in Clairton for 40 years before doing a few of her older clients at her house, well into her 80’s.  Dorothy had an indominable spirit and overcame much in her life; from a hard young life on the family farm during the depression to getting through two falls that left her with hip fractures in her later life.  Even in pain, she was still able to smile and laugh.  Our mother was an amazing woman and will be missed tremendously.  The Family wishes to thank Bridges Hospice and those at Easy Living Estates in Hunker for their compassionate care for our beloved mother during her last three years.  There will be no public viewing, please join us to gather August 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. before Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church 1216 Collins Avenue Jefferson Hills, PA 15025.  All arrangements entrusted ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREMATION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 Depot St. Youngwood, PA 15697.   Please visit our tribute wall at www.nyefuneralhome.com to leave a condolence or share a memory of Dorothy.
