Jerome D. Carter, 58, of Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Duquesne, passed on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Parkridge East Hospital.

Jerome was born in McKeesport on May 12, 1958 and son of the late Pastor Raymond C., Sr. and Rev. Dr. Wilhelmina Carter and was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Brian Carter.

He was an honors graduate of McKeesport Area High School Class of 1976. He received a Bachelor's in Engineering at Tri-State University and received his Master’s Degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic University of Hartford. He was employed at Sulzer Pumps in Chattanooga, TN, as a Project Engineer.

Survivors include, children, Rebecca (Darryl) Brown of Seneca, SC, Jerome D. Carter II of Savannah, GA, Stephanie Carter of Greenville, SC, Stephen (Leah) Carter of Royston, GA; siblings, Raymond (Dione) Carter of Greenville, NC, Jeffrey (Carla) Carter of Munhall, Ramona Taylor of Pittsburgh, Michelle (Jacob) Williamson of Acworth, GA, Lynne (Emeric) Randolph of Duquesne, Lori (Dion) Davis of McKeesport, and Shawna Carter of Duquesne. His grandchildren, Asia Lee and Jeremiah Brown of Seneca, SC. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and former wife Judy Dukes Carter. He was a beloved father, and a good friend with a heart of gold. Forever he will be in our hearts and will be truly missed.

Friends will be received from Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 2326 Jenny Lind Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Soul Saving Station, 1013 Kennedy Avenue, Duquesne, Pennsylvania with Pastor David I. Queen, officiating.

Interment will follow in the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport Pennsylvania.
