Ralph William Baker, Sr., 80, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, departed this life Thursday, May 11, 2017 at home.
He was born June 17, 1936 in Waynesboro, PA, son of the late Sanford and Dorothy Jessie Dorsey Baker. He was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Darlene Williams and sister, Sylvia (Tibby) Brown and was also the devoted husband of fifty-seven years to Elizabeth Roberta Gilreath Baker.
William was a former member of Christ Temple African Methodist Church and a proud United States Army Veteran. He was a retired employee of General Electric, West Mifflin, where he worked as a Turbine Engineer.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Roberta Baker; son, Ralph (Valerie) William Baker, Jr.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Barber of Baltimore, MD; special niece, Lynette Love of Baltimore, MD; nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives and many loving friends.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 2326 Jenny Lind Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Service will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, 937 Rose Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Geoffrey Tate, officiating.
Interment will be private.
Arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., McKeesport, PA.
