Homer D. Thompson, 76, of Ardara, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
He was born December 2, 1940 in Gallipolis, Ohio, a son of the late Stanley and Mildred Starkey Thompson. Prior to his retirement, Homer was employed as a truck driver and flagman for Penn Dot and was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Charles; and sister, Eileen Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Taylor Thompson; sons Kevin and Randy Thompson; daughter, Joyce Noel and her husband, Barry; four grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild and a sister Barbara Trout, husband Richard. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
