Matushka Martha Marie Ermakov, 88, of McKeesport, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 23, 1929 in Olyphant, and was the daughter of the late John and Martha Russen Sweda. She was the wife of the late Archpriest Dimitri H. Ermakov. She was a member of Dormition of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. Martha was a switchboard operator for the former Bell of Pennsylvania. She is survived by her daughters, Matushka Larissa D. (Mitred Archpriest Stephan P.) Romanchak of The Villages, FL, Matushka Juliane D. (Protodeacon Stephen) Howanetz of Olyphant, and Martha D. Martin of McKeesport, son, Archpriest Dimitri D. (Matushka Natasha) Ermakov of West Mifflin, sister, Vera Wasacz of San Francisco, CA, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kyra D. Uziel Ermakov, and sisters, Joanna Pianovich, Barbara Puhalla, and Myra Sweda. Friends are welcome Monday, October 16, 2017 from 6-8:00 pm, and Tuesday, October 17 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm at Dormition of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church, McKeesport. Panihida service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 18 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Gregory's Cemetery, West Mifflin.
