Jennie Zacur Shirley, age 90, of North Huntingdon died peacefully, December 25, 2017 after many years of suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

She was born Feb 14, 1927 in Latrobe, PA where she grew up on Depot Street. She was the daughter of the late Alex and Sarah Khoury Zacur. Jennie and her late husband James W. were the original owners of the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, opening in 1964. In her early years Jennie was involved in many community activities including the Norwin Lioness Club, Circleville Methodist Church and  Circleville Firehall Ladies Auxillary. Her favorite pastime however, was being a mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary  Olson, Margaret Newmeyer, Iva Lipinski; and one brother, John Zacur. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Shirley Kukich and her husband, Dr. Melvin Kukich, Patricia Blosat and husband, Jim; and son James W. Jr and wife, Pam; sister, Lila Ferris; brother, George Zacur (Clare); grandchildren, Ryan Bushik, Melanie Kukich, Jonathan Shirley serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Steven and Joshua Greenawalt; and great-granddaughter, Parker. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, with a service to follow in the funeral home chapel.
