Earl William Swartz, 90, of Liberty Borough, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at home. He was born November 21, 1927 in Elizabeth and was the son of the late Ralph and Clara (VanFossen) Swartz and was the husband of the late Dorothy (McAraw) Swartz. Earl was a member of St. Mark's Parish-St. Eugene Worship site in Liberty Borough and was a member of the Usher's Club there for over 50 years. He was a retired Tin Plate Wrapper for US Steel Irvin Works and retired in 1984 after 42 years of service. He was also a member and Trustee of the retired steelworkers organization, SOAR. Earl was a US Navy Veteran and served during WWII. For his service, he received the WWII Victory Medal. For over 50 years, Earl was an avid Duck Pin Bowler. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Swartz and son, David (Rita) Swartz of Liberty, grandchildren, Jill (Sean) Stevens, Michael (Emily) Swartz, and Kim Swartz-Gamble, and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Emma and Aubree.He was preceded in death by his sister, Ailene Morgan.
