Catherine McCay, 90, of New Kensington, formerly of Jefferson Hills, died Monday, July 18, 2016. She was born December 8, 1925 in Jefferson Township and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Zona Ammons Hood. She was the wife of the late John W. McCay, Sr., who died January 1, 2007. She was a member of the Bunola Church of the Nazarene and the Pleasant Hills VFW. Catherine was a former Sunday School Teacher and loved to sing.
She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Kocsuta of Robinson Township, Joanne (Earl) Walter of Severna Park, MD, Judy (Hermann) Ball of Phoenixville, and Deborah (David) Daugherty of New Kensington, son, John W. (fiancée, Rebecca) McCay Jr., of Butler, grandchildren, Justin and Shelly Kocsuta, Brenna (Devin) Reed, Ian Ball, Matthew (Kim) Daugherty, John W. (Lisa) McCay, III., Luke (Erin) McCay, and Lacey (Adam) Harkins, great-grandchildren, Mac, Harper, Oliver and Beau Reed, Aiden Daugherty, Aidan, Charlene, Hunter and Ethan McCay, and Trigger Harkins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Tatton, Mabel Carpenter, and Thelma and Ellen Hood, and brothers, Robert, Elmer, Edward and Roy Hood. There is no visitation. Funeral service and burial will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville on Thursday July 21 at 2:30 pm.
