Brenda Jean Lucas, 69, of Greenock, passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2021 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She was born August 3, 1951 in McKeesport and grew up in Elizabeth Township and was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Lynch) Lucas. Brenda was retired from Mayview State Hospital where she worked as a Registered Nurse for 28 years. Previous to this she worked as a cashier at Shop n Save in Olympia Shopping Center. Brenda loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii. She was also an artist who enjoyed working in water colors and oil paints and also creating antique furniture. Brenda loved all animals and along with her own pets cared for many strays at her own expense. Thankfully, she was a frequent lottery winner and was very generous with all she knew. She also donated to any organization pertaining to the care of animals such as the ASPCA and Humane Societies.

She is survived by her sister Joyce Griffin, brother-in-law, John Griffin, many cousins and many friends. Friends are welcome Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000. Services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 10:00am with The Rev. Paul Walter, officiating. Interment will follow at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
