Karen Jean Pirl, 63, of Irwin passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at her home.  She was born June 29, 1957 in Greensburg, a daughter of Bonnie Roberts Johnson and the late Carl Johnson.  Prior to her retirement, Karen was the office manager for N. Huntingdon Rescue 8 and a member of Calvary Assembly of God.  She enjoyed reading and loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchild.  She is survived by her husband, Robert Pirl; sons, Robert Jr. and his wife, Annie, Nicholas; daughters, Kelly Pirl, Molly Hamovich and her husband, Greg; brothers, John Johnson and Carl (Ann) Johnson; sisters, Cindy (Ken) Olesky, Terri (Mark) Klingensmith; and granddaughter, Piper.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.   A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Nick Poole officiating.  Funeral service, Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Assistant Pastor John Tirpak officiating.  Interment to follow in Long Run Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rescue 8.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
