Adrian Hrynyk, age 94, of McKeesport, formerly of White Oak, died Feb. 25, 2021, at The Palms at O'Neil. Born Sept. 8, 1926, in Ukraine, he was the son of the late Walter and Sophia (Cygan) Hrynyk and the husband of the late Regina (Skop) Hrynyk.
Adrian retired from Westinghouse Air Brake Co. of Wilmerding, where he worked as a machinist. He was a US Army veteran serving during peacetime. Adrian was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he was an usher for over 20 years. Adrian played semi-pro football for the Bryn Mawr Preps in his early years. He was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels with over ten years of service. Adrian's greatest joys were traveling, hunting, and fishing, camping, and family.
He is survived by his son, Ed (Karen) Hrynyk of Bartlett, IL; grandchildren, Samantha Hrynyk and Cory (Heather) Hrynyk; great-grandson, Logan Ward; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Adrian was also preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Hrynyk; sisters, Nancy Clark and Lydia Adams.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday, 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
