John R. Trumpe, age 87, of Port Vue, died June 29, 2021, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport. Born June 23, 1934, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John F. and Twila (Hicks) Trumpe and husband of Catherine (Krajack) Trumpe.
John retired from the Clairton and Duquesne Mill. He was an electrician and taught electricity at the Duquesne Mill. He was very active in the Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church, making sure the pierogis for the pierogi program were cooked just right and helping with maintenance around the church and was in the YMRS. He was also a member of the 11th Ward Club in McKeesport. While at home, John enjoyed working in the vegetable garden and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by children, Lisa (Mark) Williams, Robby (Christine) Tumpe, and David (Shelly) Nelson; grandchildren, Jayson and Brandon Rollason, Nick, Christofor, and Jack Trumpe, Emilie, Ellie, Eric, and Ethan Nelson; great-grandchildren, Levi Rollason and Destenzo Trumpe; sister, Maxine Trumpe Thayer.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 4-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
