John Karlovski, 89 of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born December 24, 1932 in Duquesne, and was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Grulja) Karlovski. He married the late Shirley (Pomaibo) Karlovski on September 17, 1955 and they were married for 56 years before her passing in December 2011. Now, a Veteran for the US Army, John served during the Korean War, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. John worked for US Steel as a journeyman and brick layer for many years, and after retirement, he began farming. He raised many ducks, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, and even a peacock. John was a member of St. Dennis church in Versailles years ago, and was also a member of the Elizabeth Township Gun Club and the NRA.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Jeff) Carter of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Adam, and Joshua (Kristina) Carter; great-granddaughter, Phoenix; sister, Ann Schuade of Missouri; many nieces and nephews; and also his dog, Little One and his cat, Leroy. In addition to his wife and parents, John is preceded in death by many other siblings. There will be no visitation.
