Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | November 08, 2022

Mary Catherine (O'Toole) Gorman, 83, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday, November 6, 2022, after an extended illness.
Born November 30, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA to Tom and Ann (Lynch) O'Toole, of Galway and Mayo, Ireland. Mary Kay grew up in Greenfield the older sister of Jim O'Toole (deceased). A St. Rosalia's graduate, she competed on their celebrated girls basketball team. Tom Monahan employed her as a secretary at his Greenfield Insurance Co., while introducing her to Gene Gorman.

Mary Kay was a proud mom, grandma and great-grandma, who always put her family first. She served as a Medical Office Assistant for over 30 years in the White Oak community. She was the dark haired lady at the front desk that would sell you two raffle tickets before scheduling your next appointment. She could sell anything. Walking to work daily, from Haler Heights to White Oak, earned her the legendary title "the streetwalker". She and her husband were often sighted walking four miles at McKeesport High School track, as well as, Oak Park Mall parking lot. They regularly attended many local sporting events. She enjoyed ice-skating, traveling, gardening and bowling with friend, Linda and the Ladies in the White Oak Bowl league. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Church.
Mary Kay was a beautiful, generous and hard working woman who left an impact on everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She will live on in all of us whose lives she touched. She was one of a kind.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Gene Gorman; three children, Mary of Steamboat Springs, CO; Sally Leonatti (Don); and Tim of McKeesport; three grandchildren, Jennifer Summers (A.J.); and Jessica Leonatti; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jack and Edie Summers.
No visitation is scheduled. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Rosalia's Church, in Greenfield with Rev. Douglas Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
