James “Jim” Russell Brewer, 82, of McKeesport, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, the youngest of three sons born to Ralph and Marguerite (Brown) Brewer. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1963, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Jim will be remembered for his good spirits, easygoing approach to life, and entrepreneurial interests and endeavors. He was a proud McKeesport resident for several decades and loved his community greatly.
Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone he met. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Lee Brewer, and son-in-law Robert Hudome. He is survived by his daughter, Gretchen Hudome; grandchildren Harry and Allison Hudome; brother Donald Brewer (Sue); sister-in-law Ginger Brewer; and several nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves behind a large extended family and a multitude of lifelong friends. He will be especially missed by the Berkavich-DeLuca and Wolf-Steinberg families, with whom he spent so many holidays and special occasions over the years. His loved ones would also like to extend a special thank you to the Peck family.
There will be a brief graveside service on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 2:30 pm at William Penn Memorial Cemetery located at 3501 Greensburg Pike Pittsburgh, PA. Family and friends are asked to please meet at the Willig Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Following there will be a Celebration of Life at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 401 West Waterfront Drive in West Homestead, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please raise your glass to give a toast in honor of Jim.
