Eleanor B. Stanchik, age 94, of White Oak, died January 13, 2026, at AHN Forbes Hospital. Born August 18, 1931, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella (Kushner) Balta and the wife of the late Dr. George F. Stanchik.
Eleanor began her career as a secretary at National Tube Works in McKeesport, where she supported her husband while he pursued his dental degree. Her unwavering support and kindness were hallmarks of her character, and after he graduated and established his practice, Eleanor embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and warmth, devoting herself to raising their children.
She is survived by children, Mark (Mary Ann) Stanchik and Tamara (William) Boyd; grandson, Ian Stanchik; brother, Stephen (Helen) Balta; sister-in-law, Carole Balta; best friend, Margie Martinjak, and her black cat, Petey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, George (Eleanor) Balta and Dr. Paul Balta.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
