Amanda C. Glemba, age 81, passed away December 9, 2022 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth.  Born June 2,1941 in Versailles, the daughter of the late George R. Pavlic and Mary M. (Sedlar) Pavlic, Mandy was a talented seamstress. She graduated from the Clarissa School in 1962 where she later taught sewing, drafting, and millinery. She was well-known in the McKeesport area for her work, designing intricate wedding dresses and doing simple alterations with equal expertise. She was employed by the Diocese of Pittsburgh for twenty years as a dedicated administrative assistant, managing the Saint Dennis Parish in Versailles, The weekly church bulletins were works of art created on a typewriter and a Xerox machine, well before a computer could make the task an easy one. Mandy was a lifetime member of Croatian Fraternal Union, Sveto Trojstvo Lodge 146 in Versailles. She was also a long-time employee of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America in Wilkins Township, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed her travels to Croatia, shopping trips to the Waterfront, Luciano's lasagna, and her Yorkshire Terrier before falling ill.

Linda J. (Secrist) Mascetta, age 73, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Grandview Estates in Elizabeth Twp. She was a retired prep cook at King's Restaurant in Bentleyville and a former prep cook at Bill's Golfland and McDonald's. Born July 23, 1949 in Monongahela, she was a daughter of the late Walter Secrist Jr. and the late Norma Jean (Kiefer) Secrist and wife of the late Robert Mascetta. Vicki (Jerome) Knudson, age 56, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Jefferson Hospital. She was a bartender and cook at Scotty's in West Elizabeth, a social member of Blaine Hill Fire Hall, and a member of the Wilson American Citizens Club in Clairton. Born July 7, 1966 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Donna (Jamison) Jerome of Summerville, SC and the late Russell Jerome. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, William F. Knudson; daughter, Chelsea Knudson of Moon Twp.; sons, Thomas (Danielle Steligo) Reitzel of Elizabeth and Brandon Knudson of West Elizabeth; grandchildren, Zoey Steligo and Brody Reitzel; sister, Robin (Jim) Patterson of Summerville, SC; also, nieces and nephews. Lorraine C. (Dwornick) Jesionowski

Lorraine C. Jesionowski, age 88 of Versailles, passed away on on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Havencrest Nursing Center, Monongahela.  Born July 8, 1934 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Marion (Sorocko) Dwornick.  A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - Corpus Christi Church, Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed her days out.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Jesionowski, who passed away October 30, 2010, her son Dr. Gary D. (Roxanne) Jesionowski, who passed away March 4, 2012, her sister Dolores J. Kolodziej, and her brothers Raphael and Tom Dwornick.  Lorraine is survived by her sons Mark F. (Linda) and Eric A. (Anne) Jesionowski, both of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren Andrew (Michaela) Jesionowski of Kenilworth, IL, Matthew Jesionowski of Pittsburgh, Kimberly Jesionowski of Pittsburgh, Michael (Katie) Jesionowski of Summit, NJ, Robert (Lindsey) Jesionowski of Marshall Twp., Paige Jesionowski of Brooklyn, NY, and Jacob Jesionowski of San Diego, CA; her great-grandchildren Charlie, Emilia, twins Claire and Rachel, Audrey, and Alyssa; and also nieces and nephews.

Nicholas M. Gimiliano

Nicholas M. Gimiliano, age 71 of Clairton, passed away at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022.  Born April 27, 1951 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Peter A. and Josephine (Curinga) Gimiliano.  Nick graduated from Clairton High School, Class of 1969, where he played baseball and basketball; received his Associates Degree from California State University; and his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.  He was a musician who also privately taught music and drove bus.  He was well known as the drummer for the popular band Pure Gold.  Nick is survived by his wife, whom he met while they were both working on the S.S. Dolphin Cruise Ship and to whom he has been married for 33 years, Karen Mellor-Gimiliano; his daughter Nina Rose Gimiliano, his son Giullio (fiancee' Rachel) Gimiliano; his sister Angela Summers of Clairton; his brother Giullio Gimiliano of Jefferson Hills, and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She retired in 2008 as a nurses aid at Southwestern Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Mifflin and was a former bus driver in the Elizabeth Forward School District. Born October 30, 1941 in Belle Vernon, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Lenora (Milby) Walt. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Kenneth) Jarmon of Elizabeth Twp., and Christy Jordan of Waco, TX; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Bell of Perryopolis; long-time friend, Walter M. Jory; also, a nephew and two nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by beloved son, Craig S. Krepps, and sister, Beverly J. Pierce. Friends will be received in the Paul E. David J. Baier, age 64 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born June 8, 1958 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Ann (Pitassi) Baier of Shaler and the late Frederick Baier.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton and a recently retired Land Administrator for Acosta Sales and Marketing, David was a music lover who DJ'ed in his younger days; a karate instructor in his even younger days, and maintained a knack for computers and tech savvy throughout his lifeitme.  Most importantly, in his retirement cut too short, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.  David is survived by his wife of 39 years Jane Marie (Prosperino) Baier; his children Lisa (Kevin Bickerton) Baier of Clairton and David Baier of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren Kai, Antonio, Jonah, and Emma; his sisters Jeannine (Frank) Konzier of Shaler and Suzanna (Bill) O'Mullen of Philadelphia; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his father, David was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Baier.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horse racing, watching sports on television, and was a Draft Kings enthusiast. Born December 15, 1955 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late William J. and Malinda (Roberts) Chomas. He is survived by sisters, Veronica (the late John) Bohlander of Rockville, MD, Mary Ellen (Michael) Yanity of Port Vue, Patti (Steve) Ostergaard of Tigoni, Kenya, and Pamela Meyer of Liberty Borough; also, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was a scout leader for cubs and girl scouts, a member of Local 3 Senior Center in Elizabeth, a former member of the Forward Twp. Seniors, and a former volunteer at St. Michael and Yough elementary schools. She was the #1 cheerleader at all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, a talented seamstress, and loved crafting, bowling, and playing cards and bingo. Born May 13, 1932 in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late James Wayne and Minnie (Braum) Pigford. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James L. Chomas; children, J. Paul J. “Puddo” Slavick, age 88, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at home. He was a retired laborer for Joseph E. DeChicchis and Co. in Elizabeth and a former employee of Swift Homes. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth Twp. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and spending time at his former camp in Tionesta. Born February 8, 1934 in Elizabeth Twp., he was a son of the late Paul M. and Stephanna (Anjeski) Slavick. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia “Gin” (Werner) Slavick; sisters, Stella Smith of Elizabeth, Joann Weiss of Jefferson Hills and Patricia Wedel of Pleasant Hills; brothers, George (Judy) Slavick of Elizabeth Twp. and Michael Slavick of Belle Vernon; also, nieces and nephews. Donna Vavra

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Donna Vavra on Monday, 14 Nov 2022. One of triplet sisters in Braddock, and days after turning 72 years old, she passed away peacefully in her sleep in the presence of her loving sisters, Denise and Diane. Despite having endured lifelong limitations and challenges, she notably exhibited a kind and caring demeanor with gentle, childlike innocence. She was a passionate dog and cat lover, and enjoyed word searches, jigsaw puzzles, computer games, magazines, and lively bingo events. Friends and family were often subjected to random trivia quizzes from her stunning repertoire of celebrity facts and other topics. Donna was an adventurous, outgoing soul. As a young adult, she lived independently in her childhood home prior to an assisted group home later in life. Although she did not drive, Donna easily navigated public transportation and traveled the country on group bus tours. She enjoyed daily interactions with housemates and cherished holiday gatherings and events with family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas R. and Anna Marie (Lovretich) Vavra, and brother, David Aaron Vavra. She is survived by her stepmother, Marlyn Lee (Phillips) Serbic Vavra McCormley and family; brother, Terence Vavra; and the families of her two sisters, Denise (John T.)
