Deborah A. (Shellhammer) Lawson, age 70, of Charleroi, formerly of Brookville, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Cambridge Hillside Senior Living. A member of First Baptist Church in Brookville, she retired after 20 years as a bookkeeper for Matson's Lumber in Brookville. She loved animals, crafting, sewing, being outdoors, baking, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed music and singing and music "carried her" after her husband passed away. Born September 26, 1952 in Stamford, NY, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Betty J. (Andrew) Shellhammer and wife of the late William L. Lawson. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly Hempel of Brookville; grandchildren, Aubree (Cameron) Johnson of Charleroi, Andrew Hempel of Export and Austin Hempel of West Newton; great-grandchildren, Naomi Rose Johnson and Roman Claude Johnson; siblings, Richard (Linda) Shellhammer, Pamela (Robert) Davis, Susan Walk and William (Cari) Shellhammer; also, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Judith Crawford and Ronald Shellhammer.

Robert "RowBoat” G. Stevens, age 82 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at home. Born October 9, 1940 in Clairton, he was a son of the late James and Louise (Murray) Stevens. A retiree from Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth, Robert was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post #803 and American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, both of Clairton, and, after his retirement from Eastman, worked at Debbie's Clairton Coffee Shop. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen R. (Zubovich) Stevens, who passed away June 15, 1993, and is survived by his daughter Patricia Stevens of Munhall, his sister Janice McGowan of South Park, and his brother James Stevens of Florida.

Mark P. Johnston, age 63 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born August 18, 1959 in Columbus, OH, he was a son of the late John D. and Cora Sure (Hugos) Johnson. A member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton, Mark was a truck driver, working for many companies over the years. He was a former Mason, associated with the Demolay Boys and Rainbow Girls, was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader, and also served as a staff member at the Heritage Boy Scout Camp. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Mari Jo (Cornish) Johnston; his children Eric (Ashley) Johnston of Monongahela, Christopher (Alexis) Johnson of New Mexico, and Ashley (Michael) Schroeder of Clairton; his grandchildren Isabella Johnston and Lilleth Schroeder; his sister Shari (Kelly) Harrison of Spring, TX; and also nieces and nephews.

(Demchak) Popchak. A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Frances was a elementary school teacher at St. Clare Elementary, an assistent teacher at Mt. Lebanon Montessori, and opened and retired from the St. Clare Montessori. She was also a CCD teacher and director of religious education at the former St. Joseph's Parish. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mickey" Bindas, who passed away on February 5, 1998, and her sisters Rose Marie Wilkerson and Sr. Barbara Popchak.

David O. Pershing, age 93, of Blaine Hill, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a millwright for US Steel National Tube Works in McKeesport. He was a Marine veteran serving during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart in the Battle of Inchon. He was also a catcher for the Parris Island Marine Corps baseball team. He was a past commander of the Blaine Hill VFW, a member of the Elizabeth American Legion, the Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge, and a life member of the Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company where he was a past chief, lieutenant and trustee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most sports. He enjoyed teaching young people the love of baseball and was a former president and team manager of the Elizabeth Baseball Association. Born June 7, 1930 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late David S. and Rose (Telesfore) Pershing and husband of the late Katherine (Barton) Pershing. He is survived by sons, David F. Pershing of Blaine Hill, Robert K. (Elizabeth) Pershing of Irwin and Mark A. (Carolyn) Pershing of Springboro; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mark and Cassidy Pershing; great-granddaughter, Dalia; siblings, Richard and Bill Pershing, both of Blaine Hill; also, nieces and nephews. Karl A. Randig, age 85, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at home. An Army veteran, he retired after 32 years as a stationary engineer at UPMC McKeesport. He was a member of Local 95, a lifetime member of Lincoln Borough Fire Company, a Mason for 40 years and a member of Lodge 45 F&AM in Pittsburgh. A Jack of all trades, he was an avid hunter, loved NASCAR, and collected and restored antique cars, his favorite being a 1957 candy apple red Corvette. Born June 29, 1938 in Lincoln Borough, he was a son of the late Andrew and Henrietta (Bradley) Randig. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Madeline A. (Lucas) Randig; daughters, Dawn (James) Gaydos and Sharyn Randig, both of Lincoln Borough; grandsons, Lukas (Christine) Gaydos and Logan Gaydos, both of Lincoln Borough; also, nieces and nephews. John M. "Jack" Poziviak, age 75 of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his residence. Born November 18, 1947 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Kovka) Poziviak. Jack worked as a control room operator for Duquesne Light Co. in Elrama. He was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross, Clairton. Jack enjoyed traveling to watch his grandkids play sports, and going to the casinos. Jack was a handyman to his neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Jupin Poziviak; his daughter Jennifer (Thomas) Walkinshaw: his sons John "Jack" (Melonie) Poziviak and Justin (Alana) Poziviak; his grandchildren Tyler, Morgan, Seth, Sydney, Maya, Jaxson, & Milena; his sister Dorothy "Dee" Martin of West Mifflin; and his nieces and nephews.
