By Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory | Posted in: Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory

his is Barbara Anne Taylor Dale Jenkins speaking, age 78, of Lincoln, formerly of Elizabeth. I went to be with my mom and grandma on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. I so enjoyed talking to my high school classmates on good old Facebook. Thank heavens for that. Kept me sane (debatable) these last years. Charles Kenneth Dale and Catherine Renee Jenkins Mayernik are my finest achievements. I love my kids to the moon and stars and back. I enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I was born July 23, 1943 in McKeesport to the late Charles F. and Ailleen S. (Simpson) Taylor. I am survived by my daughter, Cathi (Marty) Mayernik of Lincoln Borough; grandchildren, Jonathan Mayernik, Carissa Mayernik, Casey Jo Dale and Matt Medved; great-grandchildren, Nathan Dale, and Mady and Landen Medved; special friends; also, nieces and nephews. My son, Charlie K. Dale, died October 31, 2019. I have no desire to have a viewing or to put my children through any more misery. Remember laughing together and better times. If I haven’t seen you in the last six months, then you’re not missing anything nor was I missing you. You can make memorial contributions to a charity of your choice. Mom said if I can’t say anything nice to shut my mouth. So that’s it. Nothing more to say. C’yall later. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Allison Jo Shipley

By Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory | Posted in: Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory

Allison Jo Shipley, age 56 of White Oak, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at home with her family by her side. It would be wrong to say that Allison lost her battle with breast cancer, because there was not one moment she stopped fighting.  She courageously and gracefully accepted the challenges of her illness-with no complaints, just an unparalleled strength all her own.

Born on July 16, 1965, Allison was raised by her loving parents, Harry “Nick” and Christine (Bach) Manning.  In childhood and adulthood, she was surrounded by their care, and the constant admiration and affection of her siblings.  After graduating from Norwin High school in 1983, Allison studied commercial art at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; however, when professional opportunities arose in larger cities, she chose not to pursue a career away from home. Motherhood brought her two sons, Nicholas and Dylan, and she devoted herself to her boys wholeheartedly.

In 1999, when Allison married her husband John, she found her true love and partner, and her sons found an incredible father.  While Allison and John were beginning their life and building their home together, she worked at the City-County Building in Pittsburgh in the Division of Marriage Licenses, Orphans Court, the Register of Wills; and she was later employed at Continental Building Company in Homestead.  Once Allison received her cancer diagnosis in 2008, she was able to stay at home where she managed her husband’s remodeling business.
