Terry E. Wagner, age 78, of Buena Vista, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was a retired machinist and fireman for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. A Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War, he was a lifetime member and former chief of the Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Company and a former member of the Mon-Yough Fire Defense Council. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Crescent City, FL and spent his winters in Daytona Beach, FL since 1999. He was an avid gardener, hunter, NASCAR, and Bluegrass music fan. He spent many summers on his mountain in Meyersdale hunting with his nephews, David and Josh. Born September 9, 1943 in Indiana, he was a son of the late Owen C. and Iva D. (Cessna) Wagner. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Wagner of Elizabeth Twp. and Lisa (James Letham) Wagner of Buena Vista; sister, Irene (John) Shaffer of Ebensburg; Jennifer and Lisa's mother, Karen Wagner of Elizabeth Twp.; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dwight, Milford and Wayne Wagner, and nephews, Darren and Tommy Wagner and Gregg "Buddy" Leipertz Jr. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Deborah Kay Rogers, age 67 of Tarentum, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 in UPMC Shadyside.  Born January 25, 1954 in Charleston, WV, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Georgia (Clark) Harper.  A graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, Deborah was also preceded in death by her brothers Billy and Danny and grandson David.  She is survived by her husband Mark V. Rogers, Sr.; her children Daniel Harper of Portersville,  Dareen Harper of Millvale, Angel Harper, Alisha (Fred) Fricks of Liberty Borough, and Samantha (James) Frederick of Tarentum; her thirteen grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren;  her siblings Rene Placosh, Linda Fisher, Cheryl Stewart, Sharon Harper, and Denzil Harper; and also dozens of nieces and nephews.

James R. "Jim" Lomis

James R. "Jim" Lomis, age 78 of Munhall and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Eldercrest Nursing Center, Munhall.  Born October 14, 1943 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Margaret Lomis. Jim was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton and participated in the Special Olympics, winning medals in bowling.  An avid Ricky Nelson Fan, he loved listening to his records.  Jim enjoyed strumming the guitar, tinkering with electronics, juke boxes, watching “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” playing bingo, and going to Kennywood.  Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.  Jim was survived by his numerous cousins.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his aunt and caretaker Irene Helman and his grandfather John Lomis.

Anna (Casperson) Sowa Williams, age 97, of Forward Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Grandview Estates in Elizabeth Twp. She retired after 33 years as a clerk and typist for the West Jefferson Hills School District. She was a former member of Ella Hollow Bible Church and a former member of the Happy Go Lucky Square Dance Club. Born December 24, 1924 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Bailey) Casperson and wife of the late Louis R. Williams. She is survived by daughter, Janet (Tony) Homa of Elizabeth Twp.; special grandson, Anthony Homa Jr. of Elizabeth Twp.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Jerome H. Sowa Jr.; sisters, Jean Efaw and Doris Caley; and brothers, Harry Jr. and Andrew Casperson. Harry D. Thomas Jr., age 80, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at home. He retired after 38 years as a vicing foreman for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a social member of the Lincoln Borough Volunteer Fire Company and a former president of TriValley Communications. He loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding. Born August 3, 1941 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Harry D. Thomas Sr. and the late Helen (Dugan) Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth A. (Puckey) Thomas; daughter, Laura (Gil) Fischer of Forward Twp.; sons, Jeffrey Scott (Sue) Thomas of Forward Twp. and Robert (Terez Marrin) Thomas of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Thomas and Haley Fischer; sister, Lorine Chisholm of Elizabeth; brothers, Dennis (Jackie) Thomas of North Carolina, Terrence Thomas of Oklahoma and Rodney Thomas of Maryland; also, nieces and nephews. Jeffrey D. Pavlic, age 58 of North Huntingdon, went home to be with Jesus, Our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 3, 2022. Born October 15, 1963, he is the son of Daniel and Nancy (Dziak) Pavlic of Elizabeth Twp. An honors student at Elizabeth Forward High School and Robert Morris University, where he was a double major in accounting and computer science, Jeffrey worked as a computer engineering specialist for Highmark and was the co-owner of the New Great Valley Lanes in North Versailles.  Jeffrey was also an exceptional golfer, bowler, bridge player, and “Canadian” fisherman. All in all, he was a generous, kind, smart, funny, and Godly man who was a blessing to his family for far too short. His loss will leave a hole in their lives and hearts, and they will love and miss him terribly. Besides his parents, Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Denise “Dee” (Haley) Pavlic; his son Josh of Irwin; his grandson Cody; his sisters Karen (Johnny) Aromando and Pam (Charles) Cubelic, both of Ingomar; his nieces and nephews Danny (Emily) and Christian Aromando and Elizabeth, Victoria, and Chuckie Cubelic; his mother-and-father-in-law Flo and Bill Haley; his brother-in-law Bill (Cyndee) Haley and their children.

Helen E. DeCicco, age 96 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in ProMedica Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, Whitehall.  Born July 23, 1925 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine (Gennari) Cola.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, Helen worked at area supermarkets, such as Foodland, Whitey's, Marraccini's, and Spagnolas and loved being out working with the public there.  She enjoyed playing pinochle with her sister and dear friends, visiting the casino, watching football and rooting on the Steelers, and attending dances around the area with her husband at places like the local VFWs and the Swedish Singing Society in McKeesport.  Helen was also a member of the Thursday Night Duck Pin league in Glassport, but most of all, she relished being with her family, especially her dear great-grandchildren.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Louis DeCicco, who passed away May 15, 1995, and her sisters: Eva Stoffiere, Nancy Kohan, and Jean Ferrari.  Helen is survived by her daughter Lisa (David) Teolis of Elizabeth Twp.; her grandchildren Marisa (Nicholas) Costanzo of Jefferson Hills and Carmen (Stephanie) Teolis of McCandless; her great-grandchildren Adrianna and Juliet Costanzo and Luca, Dante, and Alexander Teolis; her sister Louise Mallozzi of Elizabeth Twp.; and also nieces and nephews.

Frank Steven Magdic, age 68 of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital.  Born March 4, 1953 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Emil S. and Margaret A. (Osika) Magdic. Frank worked as a laborer in pipe manufacturing. He was an accomplished guitarist and played in the bands "Lucy Blue" and "Sudden Grace".  He is survived by his sister Diane (Carl) Licht of Monongahela; brother Jeffrey Magdic of Liberty Boro; children Alissa, Allison, Aaron and Adam (Melissa) Magdic; and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements for Frank are private at the request of his family and in the charge of the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles.
