Mark George Remick, 94, of McKeesport,passed away peacefully Friday, August 29, 2025 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. He was born January 29, 1931 in Dravosburg and was the son of the late Mike and Stella (Rybacki) Uremovich. Mark was the husband of 62 years to the late Patricia S. (Needham) Remick, who passed away September 17, 2015. Mark was a US Army Veteran, who served in the Korean War. He finished his military service as a Corporal and for his service received The Korean War Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and The National Defense Service Award, amongst others. Upon completion of his military service, he would go on to work for Union Railroad for over 44 years, retiring as a foreman. After retirement from the railroad, he worked as a handyman for over 20 years. All of his life, if something was broke, he could fix it. Mark was a member of the former St. Pius Church in McKeesport, alongside his wife. Mark was a very curious man and questioned everything, even the existence of God. In his final days, Mark made the valuable and redeeming decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Mark had the gift of gab. He was member of the 11th Ward Club in McKeesport and also spent much time at local coffee shops, most notably Di's Kornerstone Diner and McDonalds, telling his stories and talking to friends. He was well known at The Rivers and Meadows Casino as well. He was well loved at The Grandview Estates of Elizabeth during his time there. He also loved to feed stray cats and was known to have a porch full of them at home. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed.

Mary Alice Oeler, 85, of Elizabeth Township, passed away at home on Friday, August 29, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1939 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sitko) Elko. Mary Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary Alice was a long time parishioner of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michaels church and was a 1957 graduate of Glassport High School. She loved to crochet, complete puzzles, read, bake and line dance. She especially loved making her grandchildren macaroni and cheese. She proudly raised her children and grandchildren. She was the loving wife of 58 years to George R. Oeler.

Lynda Gail "GG" Gantt, 75, of Elizabeth Township passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in McKeesport on November 25, 1949 to the late Clyde and June (McLean) Howell. "Gantt" as most people called her during her career, worked for 40+ years at US Steel in the Accounts Payable department. She created life-long friends, who eventually became family, with endless memories. Even after retirement and up until just recently, they would all get together to catch up and grab lunch. The best way to describe Gantt is... "fast cars & loud music - she was a rocker." GG is survived by her daughter, Shawna (Garry) Boden of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Talyn (Shannon Potter) Boden of Jamestown, and Tyler (Taylor) Boden of Versailles; as well as her brother, Robert (Patricia) Howell of Elizabeth Township; a niece and two nephews. Alma Ann Hoffman, 74, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born February 4, 1951 and grew up in Clairton and was the daughter of the late Daniel C. and Alma R. (Thompson) McCormick. She was the wife of 40 years to the late Dale Robert Hoffman, who passed away September 7, 2010. Alma was a member and one of the founders of New Hope Assembly of God, in Elizabeth Township and had recently been attending Friendship Community Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh with her second husband, Jack. Alma was a graduate of Clairton High school. Alongside her first husband Dale, she founded many businesses in our area including Duquesne House Personal Care Home, Cornerstone Day Care, Riverview Personal Care, Fallen Timber Stables and was proprietor of Senior Care Plaza in McKeesport. Most importantly, Alma was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Thelma Rea Milcic, 85 of Duquesne passed away August 22, 2025. She was born October 6, 1939 in Pittsburgh to the late Ray and Theresa (Piller) Milcic. Thelma obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Duquesne University and worked as an executive secretary prior to retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and being with her family - especially her sister, Kathleen. She is survived by her nephews, Bernard (Sandra) Freismuth, and Kurt (Deborah) Freismuth; as great-nieces, Kristina and Stephanie; great-nephews, Kurt and Jonathan; as well as a great-nephew-in-law, Chris Palazzo. In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her sister, and brother-in-law, Kathleen & Bernard Freismuth; and by her niece, Jennifer Lynn Freismuth-Palazzo. There is no visitation. Robert A. Harff, Jr., 77, of Glassport, formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1947 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert A., Sr and Anna Loretta (March) Harff. Robert was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was the best HVAC Technician for over 35 years, working for several different companies during his career. He loved drinking beer while listening to oldies, watching classic TV shows and he was an avid talk show enthusiast. He was also a farm boy growing up. He was the loving husband of the late Correna Lynn Harff, who passed away on September 11, 2012.

Charles J. Filiano, 95, of Elizabeth Twp, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his current residence at Point Pleasant Retirement Community. He was born January 23, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Farischon) Filiano. Charles was the husband of 67 years to the late Pauline L. (Donofe) Filiano, who passed away July 17, 2022. Charles was a US ARMY Veteran serving during the Korean War, for his service he was awarded The Army of Occupational Medal (Germany) and The Good Conduct Medal. Upon his completion of his military service he would go on to work for Bettis Atomic Laboratories. He was a member of the former St. Denis Church in Versailles and was a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. During his time at St. Denis he was an usher, altar server, "Mr. Donut" at the Parish Festival and also a gym teacher and softball coach; at St. Patrick, also served as an usher and altar server for many years. He enjoyed watching TV especially game shows, and sports, most notably the Pirates, Yankees and Steelers. Charles also enjoyed bowling, golfing, scratch off tickets, candy and his favorite wine, Riunite Lambrusco. He will be greatly missed.

Marie Catherine Brennan, 70, of West Mifflin, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025. She was born April 11, 1955 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Robert Paul Brennan, Sr. and Agnes (Rosepink) Brennan. She obtained a bachelors degree in Nursing from The University of Pittsburgh and another in Business From Carnegie Mellon University. She was a nurse for many years and later worked for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in the insurance side of health care as well. Marie was a very smart woman and good person. She was a great mother and grandmother, who raised her two sons on her own. She will be greatly missed. Frederick E. "Fred" Miller, Jr., 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 after a five year battle with ALS at his daughter's residence. Fred was born March 2, 1947 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Frederick E. Miller, Sr. and Margaret (Wigand) Miller Smith. Fred was a US ARMY Veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge as Seargent, he was awarded The Purple Heart with 1 Device, The Bronze Star Medal with 1 Device, The Good Conduct Medal, The Combat Infantryman Badge, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Upon Completion of his military service, Fred would go on to work for US Steel Irvin Works for over 50 years, retiring as a manager. He enjoyed working and watching TV. He loved spending time with his family, and in later years, fishing with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Dale Raymond Gerstner, 77, of White Oak, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Harry F. and Marian (Carlson) Gerstner. He was born on the same day White Oak Borough was incorporated. He was a proud US Army Veteran, and served our country during the Vietnam War. Dale was the owner of Gerstner Autobody in White Oak, he was very talented working on Ambulances, Hearses, rare cars and many vehicles during his career. He was also a former part time police officer for White Oak and East McKeesport. Most importantly he was family man who walked a Christian life. He enjoyed his horses when he was young and very fond of nature. He also loved traveling, scuba diving, skiing, white water rafting and spending time on his back porch.

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy George Gray, of Rostraver Township, on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was born January 18, 1944 in McKeesport to the late Roy Sheridan and Doris (Pomilio) Gray. Roy was a man of kindness who lived a Christian life of integrity spending the last 30 years plus in Charleston SC, and recently returned, full circle, to Port Royal. Roy, an accredited songwriter, practicing guitarist, also enjoyed golfing, and playing PC simulator games. Roy could be described as a salesman by heart, a man who lived a life of adventure, racing stock cars, driving truck cross country, and even spent time working for NASA. He was also known as a well-versed entrepreneur, from the early days of collecting and reselling golf balls, to successfully starting and managing multiple businesses in his lifetime. Roy enjoyed relaxing on the water, either sailing or in his speed boat. He also loved photography and loved taking pictures of family and friends. He is survived by his children, Mark (Kim) Gray of West Newton, Erika Gray of Harrisburg, and Cristi (Greg) Orr of Charleston, SC; his 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Dean (Lilly) Gray, Marvin (Cathy) Gray, Betsy Sporio, and Scott (Margy) Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy is also preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Gray; as well as his sisters, Susan Manning and Rozanne Fowler. Michael Adam Jones, 30, of Irwin passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born May 6, 1995 in Pittsburgh to Robert Alan Jones and Susan (Macey) Bauman. Through the years, Mikes passion for cycling turned to motorcycle rides and working around cars - working for Kenny Ross Mazda as a Salesman and as a co-owner of Zak's Bike Shop. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and traveling.
