Shawn David Dixon, age 43, of North Versailles, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Pittsburgh on March 13, 1980, he is the son of Susie (Baird) Novak of North Versailles and the late Terry David Dixon. He was a brick maker and a member of the Duquesne Volunteer Fire Department.  He is survived by his mother; fiancé of Katie Cummings and her daughter Amelia of Clairton; father of Steven Dixon (age 7) and Oden Dixon (age 6) of Midland, PA; nephew of Joan (late Jim) Tomasic of North Huntingdon, Janie (Donald) Charlesworth of North Versailles and Jim (Laurie) Baird of Georgia. He is also survived by cousins.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. Charles E. “Chuck” Waddle, age 90, of Duquesne, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. Born in Blairsville, PA on November 13,1933, he was the son of the late James and Martha Agnes (Dunlap) Waddle. He was retired from Financial Accounting Services in Pittsburgh, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church, was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer. He coached the Tigers baseball team for Duquesne Little League Baseball. He proudly served his country, in the Army, during the Korean War. He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Rusinko) Waddle, who died on February 12, 2006. He is the father of Dennis Waddle of Duquesne, Denise Waddle of Slickville, and Duane (Carol Pasquarelli) Waddle, his caregivers, of Duquesne; brother of the late William (late Joanne) Waddle, Late James (surviving spouse Mitsue) Waddle of  El Paso, TX, late Margie (late Jonas) Stuchal, and late Edna Grace “Ted” (late Norman L. “Date”) McGinity. Born in Pittsburgh on April 26, 1995, he is the son of Debra (Hazel) Phifer of West Mifflin and the late Paul Strang. He worked as a meat cutter, loved to travel, play golf, boating and rafting. He also enjoyed online gambling and going to the casino. He is survived by his mother; was the brother of the late Desiree Shilllingburg; uncle of Hayley (Tim) Gaskill, Mark Shillingburg, Ryder Shillingburg and Alexandra Hvasta; great nieces and nephews; nephew of Bill Strang of West Mifflin, Dan (Kathy) Strang of Munhall and Lloyd Strang. He is also survived by his godmother, Karla Bottomley. HELENA C. STOJAKOVICH

HELENA C. STOJAKOVICH, 94, formerly of Duquesne and McKeesport, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in St Augustine, Florida.  Born April 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Lucia Phillips, and wife of the late Nick Stojakovich. She was an ardent fan of the Steelers and the Penguins.  Helena was a long-time member of Praise Assembly of God in North Versailles.  She loved the Word of God, her favorite verse being John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  She loved to tell people about Jesus even to the end, sharing the love of Jesus with her medical staff.

She is survived by sons Nicholas (Gloria) and Gary of St Augustine, Florida, Robert (Diane) of Lakeland, Georgia and Timothy (Carol) of Hahira, Georgia; sister Jeanette Gergely of North Huntingdon, and brother Robert (Jean) Phillips of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren Heather Payne, Hannah McLaughlin, Danielle Thomas, Gary, Salvatore, Robert, Jeremy and Samuel Stojakovich; and several great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Rose Coccia, Velma “Thelma” House, Clara Sgattoni, and Yolanda DiGregory; and grandson Matthew Stojakovich.

Helena lived a rich and rewarding life, overcoming by God’s grace difficulties and hardships.  While we are sorrowful in this life, we have the hope of the resurrection when we will be united again in God’s glorious kingdom.

Friends and family will be received from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, December 15, and from 9am to 11am on Saturday, December 16 at Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home in Duquesne. Dolores "Dolly" Mewkalo

Dolores “Dolly” Mewkalo, age 92, of Duquesne, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born in Duquesne on August 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Banosky) Jakub. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish - formerly St. Hedwig’s Church. Dolly loved her family above all else, including her many pets over the years. She was always present for family holiday celebrations, sporting events, vacations, and cross country visits. Dolly was quite adventurous. She road tripped to many places over the years, including Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Disney World, Boston, New Mexico, and Canadohta Lake. Even in her 80s and 90s, Dolly went jet skiing and parasailing on Hilton Head Island, and traveled to Seattle. She also enjoyed crafting and watching Hallmark movies, especially with her grandchildren. She was quick-witted and had a good sense of humor, keeping us laughing until the very end. Dolly was the beloved wife of the late Theodore F. “Ted” “Fey” Mewkalo, for 56 wonderful years; loving mother of David C. (Linda) Mewkalo of Mt. Lebanon; adoring grandmother of Jessica L. (Stylianos “Styli” Tsinaroglou) Mewkalo and David C. Mewkalo II; sister of Albert (Marion) Jakub, Florence Jakub, William (late Patricia) Jakub, and late brothers Michael (late Genevieve) Jakub, Edward Jakub, Andrew (late Ann) Jakub, Frank (Marlene) Jakub, and John (late Faith) Jakubov. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family. Dolly’s wishes were for a private burial held in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, West Mifflin. He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in architecture. He was a self-employed Architect, a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, and an avid hunter and fisherman. Boyd is the husband of Susan (Valco) for 55 years; father of Boyd of Duquesne, Jessica of West Mifflin, Alyssa, at home, Ian (Alejandra) of Milwaukee, WI, and Ethan (Esther) of Munhall; grandfather of Anthony, Casey (Savanna), Ashleigh (Kenneth) Baurle, Emma, Ezran, Bellen, Sophie and Thomas; great grandfather of Aurora, Arianna, Hope and Levi; brother of Nancy (late John) Belich of West Mifflin and uncle of Brock (Allie) Belich and Nicole (Michael) Korach. Age 95, of Forest Hills, formerly of Rankin, went peacefully into life eternal on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.  Beloved wife for over 50 years of Amedeo; mother of Mary Ann; sister of late Nunzio Valletta (Italy), late Guido Valletta (Michela ‘Lia) (Italy), and Teresa Valletta (France). Also survived by nephews Antonio and Luigi Valletta (Italy) and Serge, Joel (Haja), and Yves Scappaticci (France) as well as many loving cousins and dear friends. Anna was skilled at gardening, cooking, baking, as well as sewing and crochet. She is the grandmother of Courtney Kleist of West Mifflin and Nick Kleist of West Mifflin; great grandmother of Sage Hone; and sister of the late Steve Gazda. There will be No Visitation. Margaret V. Estok, age 98, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Grandview Estates, in Elizabeth Twp. Born in Duquesne on June 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Lukas and Anna (Majoros) Prokay. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church, was a wonderful grandma and it brought her joy to be with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and was an excellent stuffed cabbage maker. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

She was the wife of the late George Estok; mother of Kenneth (Ann) Estok of Dravosburg and late Robert G. “Bobby” Estok; grandmother of Andrew (Robin) Estok of North Huntingdon and Christian Estok of West Mifflin; great grandmother of Andrea Margaret Estok. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ann Ciglan, Irene Juhasz, Joseph, Alex, James and Edward Prokay.  There will be no services. Burial has taken place at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin, and Rev. Dan D’Antonio officiated.

She previously worked at Stratigo’s Catering, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-former Holy Name Church, enjoyed spending time with her family, worrying about them, and cooking. She was the loving wife of 60 years to the late Joseph D. “Dave” Malloy who died on December 27, 2022. She is the mother of Mary Beth (Glenn) Artim of West Mifflin, Joseph P.  (Lisa) Malloy of West Mifflin and late David G. Malloy; grandmother of Joseph M. Malloy, Carrie Artim, Ryan Artim, and Kristie (wife Julia) Dean; sister of the late Maureen (late James) Fenton; late John O’Leary, and late Patrick (late Birdie) O’Leary. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in the States and nieces and nephews in Ireland.
