James Jacob Barchie, age 95 of Oakley, MI and formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in Chesaning Comfort Care in Chesaning, MI. Born July 25, 1923 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Nicholas G. and Anna (Barcic) Barchie. A US Navy Veteran of World War II and retiree from US Steel National Tube Works in McKeesport, James was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, and its Holy Name Society and ushers' group there, and the former Sacred Heart Parish. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and member of the Greek Catholic Union, CFU Lodge #3 of McKeesport, American Legion #701 of White Oak, Club Dobrotvor, and the AARPs of Versailles and White Oak. James also volunteered at Kane Regional Center, Auberle, and The Intersection, all in McKeesport.

Walter Albert Heisler, 70, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born May 7, 1948 in Pittsburgh and was a retired Truck Driver. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean (Greco) Heisler, step-daughter, Maria (Jay) Bickerton of Buena Vista, step-sons, Christopher Mozgawa, Sr., of West Newton, Timothy J. (Melissa) Mozgawa, Sr., of Herminie, and Jamie Mozgawa of Boston, grandchildren, Meghan Konsugar, Jesse Bickerton, Kaylee Klingensmith, Christopher, Jr., Leah, Sarah, Timothy Jr., Madelyn, Olivia, Luke , Kasey, and Jenna Mozgawa and 4 great-grandchildren. William "Bill" Cole, Jr. was called home by the Father on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Bill was a husband, father and friend. He was also a car enthusiast through and through. Bill enjoyed all things automotive and passed that passion to his sons. He was a creative handyman and could fix just about anything. Bill had a solid career as a research technician at the US Steel Research facility in Monroeville, PA. Bill is survived by his eldest son, Wayne married to Leigh (O'Brien) with daughters Elizabeth and Lexi; son, Scott married to Malissa (Kazmer) with daughter Amber. A small memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date. Lawrence McClure Wilson, 82, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born January 20, 1937 in Bentleyville, Pa., a son of the late John and Eunice Greenlee Wilson. Lawrence earned his Master's Degree in special education from California University, was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Christian Life Church, Trafford. Lawrence started his career as a speech therapist for Somerset County School District and later worked for Polk Medical Center as a program director for the last ten years. He loved to hunt, fish and was an avid antique and flea marketeer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Herbert, James and John; sister, Margaret Zarak. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Colleen Harkcom Wilson; sister, Grace Wilson; brother, Arthur (Beverly) Wilson; and sister-in-law, Frances Wilson. Friends will be received on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the Christian Life Church of Trafford, 900 7th Street Ext., Trafford, PA. Daniel R. Bartkus, 74, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019. He was born December 28, 1944 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Bennie and Sophie "Sally" (Dobos) Bartkus. Daniel was a retired Allegheny County Police Officer and was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, AFM 900-3/Vietnam Service Medal, and the AFM 900-3/Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and Disabled American Veterans.

Nelson Stanley Hitchens, age 82, of North Huntingdon, died on March 26th, 2019. He was born in Port Vue on March 7, 1937 and is the son of the late Earl Maxwell and Mary Ellen Bain Hitchens. Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Dorothy Hitchens (recently deceased on December 22nd); loving father of Cheryl (Frank Bohm) Hitchens, Craig Hitchens and Chris (Denise) Hitchens; caring brother of Donald (Trudy) Hitchens, the late Dorothy (Melvin) Joel and the late Earl Hitchens, Jr.; and cherished grandfather of Scott Hitchens, Andrew Hitchens, Melissa Rollinson and Nathan Liddell. A graduate of McKeesport High School and possessing an inventive spirit, Nelson spent over 30 years at Carbide as a tool-and-die maker. He was a lifelong, dedicated Pittsburgh sports fan and an enthusiastic cyclist; he and Dorothy traveled many of Pennsylvania’s rails-to-trails together.
