Thomas N. Hobbs, Jr., age 95 of Liberty Borough, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  Born May 31, 1926 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Thomas N. Hobbs, Sr. and Rose Evelyn (Jennings) Hobbs.  A US Army Veteran of World War II - serving in Patton's Third Army throughout Europe -- Thomas was a self-employed truck driver, a member of the 32nd degree, past master, and fifty year pin recipient of the Free and Accepted Masons Omni Lodge #582 and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.  Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Ruth (Curry) Hobbs, who passed away May 12, 1995 and his son Bruce Hobbs.  He is survived by his sons Thomas J. Hobbs of Massilllon, OH and David (Michelle Linn) Hobbs of McKeesport; his six grandchildren Katlin, Diane, and Madilyn Hobbs, Grace Lash, Amanda (Philip) Wingfield, and Lauren (Marcello Lurito) Hobbs; his daughter-in-law Jacqueline Schilling; and also nieces and nephews.

Leonard D. Frost, age 94, of Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He retired after more than 43 years as an electrician for U.S. Steel, Irvin Works in West Mifflin. A U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II, he was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp., where he was an usher and a member of the Rosary Maker’s Society. He was everyone’s handyman and could fix anything. During his retirement, he was an avid flea market seller. He was a member of McKeesport and West Mifflin coin clubs, and the Happy Go Lucky Square Dance Club, and was a Steelers and Pirates fan. Born June 7, 1927 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Adam and Josephine (Lemanski) Frost. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Dolores A. (Kraszewski) Frost; children, Deborah (Gary) Balliard of Elizabeth, Catherine (Marvin) Gray of Bunola, Susan A. (Bruce) Benzo of Perryopolis, Leonard Frost Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL, Maura Lynn Frost of San Diego, CA, Stephen (Linda) Frost of Elizabeth, Nanette (John) Ragan of Elizabeth Twp. and Lisa M. (Raymond) Kotewicz of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Brian (Liz) Adkins, Melissa (Robert) Strong, Jason Gray, John (Emily) Ragan, Timothy (Connor) Ragan, Daniel Ragan, Joseph Ragan, Elizabeth Kotewicz, Raymond Kotewicz, Stephen Frost and Nash Frost; great-grandchildren, Madelynn Adkins, Brian Adkins, Levi Strong and Ava Ragan; also, nieces and nephews. Ronald Martell, age 62, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Clairton, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Born March 13, 1959 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Samuel J. and JoAnn Santoline Martell.  He is survived by his brothers, Dean Martell of Pittsburgh, and Philip (Trisha) Martell of Elizabeth; nephews, Jordan (Bethany) Martell-Hatchett,  Garrett Martell, nieces, Alexandra, Maya Martell, and Gabby Tedesco, great-nieces, Alivia and Vanessa Hatchett, and aunt Rose "Tootie" Kehoe.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Marie Martell.  Funeral arrangements for Ronald are private at the request of his family and in the charge of the A.J. Avid hunter, genuine family man, and the best Pap Pap in the world, Richard Lee Miller Jr., age 71, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Rich was a 1968 graduate of the South Allegheny School District. He was a retired cement mason from Local 526 and was a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics, Coal Valley Council #98. He was a long-time employee of more than 40 years at McHolme Builders Inc. in Elizabeth. Rich took great pride in his four grandchildren. He would never miss a softball, baseball, or soccer game they had, even if he had to watch his South Carolina grandchildren on video! Those four kids were his pride and joy. Born March 25, 1950 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Richard Sr. and Alice (Hansen) Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gloria Jean (Drnach) Miller; daughter, Allison (Gary) Grimm of Elizabeth Twp.; son, Richard Lee (Jennifer) Miller III, of Fort Mill, SC; PROUD Pap Pap of Alivia, Nathan, Molly, and Noah; siblings, Carol Silverstein, Barry, James and Ronald Miller; also, nieces and nephews.

Joyce Gibson Link

After a courageous battle with cancer, Joyce (Phillis) Gibson Link left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Hope House Hospice in Cape Coral Florida. One doctor described her as a “Warrior”. Joyce was an active member of Cape Coral First United Methodist Church and prior to that she belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Clairton. She worked at Three Rivers Bank in Jefferson Hills for over 20 years and in 2001, retired to Florida. She was unable to sit idle, so she went to work in the Cape Coral Walmart for another 16 years. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed cheering them on, so much so that on her final day on this earth she told her doctor that she might try out for the quarterback position. She was a kind, loving, caring, and giving Christian woman who left her mark on many. Born February 7, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late V. Blanche Phillis and Dene B. Phillis and wife of the late Jay F. Link. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Edward Dene Gibson and wife Debra of Jefferson Hills; three grandchildren, Justin Dene Gibson (Beth), Carly Lynne Coleman (Bobby) and Edward M. J. Gibson; eight great-grandchildren, Thomas “T.J.” Wintermyer, Dylan Gibson, Anthony Kobelak, Micayla Kobelak, Cameron Gibson, Jordan Gibson, Declan Hanratty and Harvey Gibson; sister, Jene Phillis Walker (Bobby) of Richmond VA; many cousins, nieces and nephews; her close friends in the Ladybugs bible study group; as well as Keefe and Mona Morabito and Cheryl Scott who were always there at her side in both good times and in her times of need. A memorial service will take place in Florida on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10 AM in the Cape Coral First United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL. A local memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11 AM in the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 317 S. 2nd Avenue, Elizabeth, PA. Michael C. “Mickey” Greenwalt, age 61 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away after a long battle on Friday, October 1, 2021 in Jefferson Hospital.  Mickey was born on April 22, 1960 to the late Joan (Baker) Smithhammer.  He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters Union and worked as a facilities operator for Watco Companies in Dravosburg. Mickey is survived by his father, Wayne Smithhammer of Erie; his loving wife Tracy (Tate) Greenwalt; his son Brandon (Heather) Greenwalt of Georgia; his stepdaughter Olesha (James) Arries of Idaho; his stepson Kavan (Lindsey Gosen) Cubra of Ohio; his grandchildren Haylen, Jackson, Karley, Bobby and Eli; his sister-in-law Kim Greenwalt of Belle Vernon; his sister Amy Smithhammer of Liberty Boro; his niece Kristi (Jeremy) Gibson; and his great-niece-and-nephew Liam and Layla. Besides his mother, Mickey was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Greenwalt who passed away September 14, 2006.
