An Army veteran serving during the Cold War, he was a former electrical engineer for Medrad of Pittsburgh and attended Bunola Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed taking on-line courses in history and economics at Hillsdale College. He collected sports memorabilia, enjoyed watching the Pirates, Penguins and NASCAR, and listening to classic rock. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. Born May 21, 1965 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late George F. and Gloria J. (O'Brien) Charles. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Denise (Trumpie) Charles; daughters, Amber (Amos) Onyango of Penn Hills, Autumn (Julian) Wyldhart of San Diego, CA and Aryn (Dana) Hess of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Isaiah, Emma, Lara, Oliver, Adelaide, Lilienne, Rhys Scott (after his grandfather) and a soon-to-be eighth grandchild; grandpuppy, Cleo (Kiki); also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Evelyn J. (Sutton) Thompson, age 75, of Elrama, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Rhodes Estates in New Castle. She was a retired accountant for the McKeesport Housing Authority. She was a member of Elrama United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the craft class making prayer shawls. She was also involved with the Jefferson Hills Board of Elections. Born June 10, 1945 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Larry E. and Margaret L. (Parsons) Sutton. She is survived by her sister, Darla J. Hoagland of New Castle; nieces, Paula Heyman of Austin, TX and Crystal (Bryan) Heverly of West Point, NY; nephews, Craig Moore of Elizabeth and Wesley (Lisa) Hoagland of Bradenton, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Laurel Heyman and Marlene Moore. Friends will be received in the Paul E. He was a retired coiler for U.S. Steel Irvin Works and an avid sports fan who loved major league baseball, hockey and football. Born February 5, 1946 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Metro M. and Nettie (Boal) Barna. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ethel M. (Clawson) Barna; son, Richard T. Barna of Glassport; sisters, Marlene Murphy of Fredricksburg, VA and Christine Reynolds of White Oak; brother, Samuel (Robin) Barna of Monessen; also, nieces and nephews. Angelo J. Marraccini, age 90, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at ManorCare Health Services - Bethel Park. He was a retired welder for U.S. Steel/Hercules. He was a talented baseball player in his youth and was given the opportunity to try out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company and enjoyed many years of hunting and fly fishing with his sons, brothers, and friends, especially at the Blaine Hill Hunting Camp in Potter County. He was a master gardener and always had a beautiful, organic vegetable garden in his yard and often shared his produce with family and friends. Born July 19, 1930 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Angelo and Theresa (Yacomelli) Marraccini and husband of the late Sally (Bohlander) Marraccini. He is survived his sons, Darrell (Julie) Marraccini of Yeringyon, NV and Angelo J. Marraccini of Elizabeth, PA; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Joseph Pistell; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, C. René Marraccini Pistell, four brothers and a sister. Friends will be received in the Paul E. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, playing card games and crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Born January 21, 1935 in Martins Ferry, OH, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mildred (Sayre) Gill and wife of the late Richard C. Jeffers. She is survived by daughter, Phylis Jeffers of Jefferson Hills; sons, Scott (Cheryl) Jeffers of Monongahela and Stephen (Darlene) Jeffers of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Lucas Jeffers, Taylor Jeffers, Tyler (Alyssa) Settelmaier, Brianna Ketzler and Derek Ketzler; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Dennis) McKnight of Belle Vernon, Lilly (Ben) Bennett of Elizabeth, Mary Allen of Port Vue and Suzie (David) Fortney of Simpsonville, SC; brother, Russell "Skip" Gill of West Mifflin; also, nieces and nephews. Torrance A. "Torry" Viviano, age 63, of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was a retired electrical engineer at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. A member of West Mifflin Community Baptist Church, he was a good provider for his family. He enjoyed ham radio and all electronics and photography. Born February 22, 1958 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Dominic and Betty (Opfar) Viviano. He is survived by his son, Brandon T. (Chelsea Higgins) Viviano of Clairton; daughter, Kristen (Lydia Vota) Viviano of Wheeling, WV; grandchildren, James and Bella Viviano and Roman Higgins; former wife and friend, Kim Fleischer of White Oak; brother, Don (Connie) Viviano of Mt. Robert Murtha, age 90 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 in Point Pleasant Retirement Community, North Versailles.  Born January 13, 1931 in Dravosburg, he was a son of the late John and Marie (Striegel) Murtha.  A US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Robert was the proprietor of Murtha Trucking, Inc. and a former millwright for US Steel.  Robert was the past president of the Elizabeth Twp. Lions Club and a member of the White Oak American Legion, the Sutersville Moose, W.I.M.B.U. of Blythedale, and the Elizabeth Twp. Seniors.  He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.  Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Shirley A. (Welty) Murtha, who passed away May 9, 2015, and his brothers Louis, Kenneth, and William Murtha.  He is survived by his children Karalee (John) Carr of Hollywood, FL and Robert J. Murtha of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Meagan Knapp, John D. (Alexa) Sutton, Austin (Tricia) Murtha, and Trevor and Louis Calderon; his great-grandchildren Brooklyn Knapp, Bianca, Riley, and Austin Murtha, and Olivia and Roman Calderon; his siblings Joseph Glenn (Darlene) Murtha of Houston, TX, Timothy Ronald (Lita) Murtha of Bradenton, FL, June (the late James) Andrews of Elizabeth Twp., and James (Jackie) Murtha of Elizabeth Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.

He retired after 35 years as an operator for Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth. An Army veteran, he was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Elizabeth Twp. where he was a member of the praise team for the past 16 years. Music was John's life — he was also a member of the praise team with Greater Works Church, he composed music, and collected guitars. Born December 28, 1948 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Ellener (Edwards) Critchfield. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sue L. (Borreggine) Critchfield; daughter, April Star Critchfield of Denver, CO; son, Seth (Ashley) Critchfield of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Brooke, Dillon and Autumn Critchfield; stepdaughter, Bonnie (Dean) Pioveson; stepsons, Eric Castor and Jason Knowles; step-grandchildren, Naomi, Noah, Cheyenne, Chasity, Sean, Nevaeh, Damian and JJ; former wife, Marlene; in-laws; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Timothy Edwin Mays, age 70 of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center.  Born November 12, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Edwin and Mildred (Cummins) Mays. He worked as a self employed hauler and demolition man, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Park Baptist Church in Versailles.  Timothy was preceded in death by his wife Mary E. (Ainsworth) Mays, who passed away July 8, 2011. He is survived by his son Raymond (Jamie) Mays of Glassport; grandchildren Michael, Katelyn, Cameron, Shane & Madison Mays and Brittney Richie; great-grandson Jeremiah Richie; sisters Deborah (Roger) Trimpey of Buena Vista, Linda (Joe) Trumbauer of Allentown, Roberta (George Oatman) Mays of Greenock, and Lori King of Buena Vista; and also nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran serving during Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 8 in Everett, PA.  Born December 1, 1946 in Uniontown, PA, he was a son of the late Harold E. Yarris, Sr. and Doris (Murray) Yarris. He is survived by his daughters Valarie Becker of Pleasant Hills and Susan Reid of Tampa Bay, FL; grandchildren Sheri, Brandi, Sydney, Seth, Matthew, Tim and Julianna; great grandchildren Shania, Nijia, Nakiya, Chrisanna, and Kyran; and great great granddaughter, Raelyn; sisters Judy (Dave) Sible of Gaithersburg, MD, Raedel (Dave) Ringer of Concord, NC,  Jane (Scott) Gillespie of Coplay, PA and brother, James  (Kathy) Yarris of Cranberry, PA. She worked as a secretary for Firth-Sterling Steel Co. in McKeesport, PA for many years, was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, and a former member of St. Paulinus Church in Clairton, where she served as a secretary. She loved going to the Twinsburg Festival in Ohio with her twin sister Ella and her greatest comfort was walking through the Holy Doors of the Vatican in Rome.

Born March 6, 1943 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Michael Farmer and the late Agnes Principal. She was a member of St. Eugene Church in Liberty Boro and would work as a secretary for the family business. She loved spending time on the family farm (Perkoski’s Farm) and will remember as a loving mother, grandmother, and as the glue that held the family together.
