Grace Eileen Bindas, 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2022. Affectionately known as Dirdle, she was born on February 13, 1943 in Raysal, WV, before moving to Clairton, PA. Grace graduated from Clairton High School in 1961. In Clairton, Grace met her loving husband, Johnny at just 16 years old. Grace and Johnny married on November 9, 1963. The two were the loves of each others' lives. She proudly worked at the University of Pittsburgh as an administrative assistant in Pulmonary Medicine and then retired from the University's School of Medicine. Grace enjoyed hosting Sunday family dinners, planting flowers, shopping, sewing, traveling with her AARP group, visiting her daughter in Massachusetts, meeting friends for lunch, munching on potato chips and surprising her loved ones with goodies ordered through QVC. Above all, Grace thrived on the love of her family. In her later years, Grace cherished returning to Raysal with family, taking the long, winding country roads back to the "holler" to see her birthplace. Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Emma Grueso, and her two brothers, Emilio and Manuel Grueso. Dirdle's surviving loved ones include her husband, John of 58 years; children, Karen Sarge, John (Bonnie) Bindas, and Beth (Doug) Vernon; sister, Marie Warren; grandchildren, Rachael, Jakob, Noah, Morgan, Joshua; and her four-legged grand puppies, along with several nieces and nephews. Richard L. Bruce Sr., 72, of West Newton, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born January 11, 1950 in McKeesport, a son of the late Edward and Minerva (Williams) Bruce. Prior to his retirement, Richard was an home improvement salesman and a veteran of the US Army having served during Vietnam. He was a graduate of Norwin Senior High School Class of '68 and a drummer in "The Ravons". He was a Beatles fan, enjoyed watching movies and loved his dog, "Buddy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Bruce. He is survived by his son, Richard (Julie) Bruce Jr.; daughters, Cindy Bruce, Jennifer (Harry) Lalor, Andrea (David) Sidun; brother, Jimmy Bruce; grandchildren, Landon, Davanee, Kennedy, Paige, Holly and Dylan; and his best friend, Marc Muryn. William “Bill” Mays Jr. was a caring husband, father, pap, GP and friend. He peacefully passed away, March 16, 2022 at age 91. He was born to William and Thelma Mays of Coulter, PA on April 6, 1930. Bill went to McKeesport High School where he met his loving wife of 70 years, Elaine (Ohs) Mays. He retired from the B&O Railroad and upon his retirement, he and his wife traveled the world and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. In his free time, Bill served the Methodist Church in downtown Irwin, loved his roses and planting in his garden, and was an avid poker player.

Sharen Lee (Miller) Silvis, 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born June 3, 1942 in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late Robert T. "Bud" and Catherine "Kay" (Bradshaw) Miller.
Sharen enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans, and found much pleasure giving them to family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who made her home a castle for her family. Sharen was preceded in death by her first canine companion, Riley. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack D. Silvis; son, Darryl L. Silvis and his wife, Corie; daughter, Laurie K. Peddicord and her husband, Sam; grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Shaffer, Leanne Silvis, Jack T. Silvis; great-grandchildren, Arielle, Tyler, Abby, Leona, Sage and Jack Jr.; brother, Robert B. "Brad" (Carol) Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Ricky.

Roberta L. Wobrak, 89, of North Huntingdon passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Transitions Healthcare. She was born April 30, 1932 in East Millsboro, PA, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Layhew. Roberta enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Roy Nelson Hixson II, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was born January 30, 1939 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Roy Nelson and Marie Ida (Mellott) Hixson. Prior to his retirement, Roy worked as a machinist for Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh and later retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He was a member of Shaner Gun Club, was a car enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, attending dirt track races and his time at Crystal Spring Campground. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Cearns) Hixson; daughters, Cheryl Schultz and her husband, Keith, Sharon Bindas and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Ryan and Alexander Schultz, Brandon and Tyler Bindas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. Mary Margaret "Pudge" Kelly passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born on July 25, 1938. Pudge was preceded in death by her father, Charles Kelly, mother, Mary Spiegel Kelly, brother, Charles Jr., sister, Shirley Marino Andonisio, sister, Patricia McKillop Gatto, nephews, David and Chuck Kelly, nieces, Christine Marino Rizk and Monika McKillop, and life-long companion, Becky Bilott. Our Aunt Pudge leaves behind nieces, Linda Marino Fry Moore and Dennis, Karen Marino Piper and Tom, Doreen "Sissy" Kelly. Nephews, Rob McKillop, Angelo Marino and Machiel, Mark McKillop, Todd McKillop and Debbie, Anthony Marino and Renata; 28 great nieces and nephews and 29 great-great nieces and nephews. Her special loved ones include Armand Sperdutto, Pat Dirling, Peggy Crossey and Marlene Wargo. Pudge was truly loved by everyone who knew her. She grew up in Braddock and was a color guard in the marching band. She worked at the Five & Dime before starting her 38 year career at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. She got her cosmetology license when she turned 50 "Just cause she wanted to". She raised and loved many pets from Guinea Pigs to Chihuahuas. "Baby Girl" will surely miss her best friend. She supported many charities, especially Animal Friends. She traveled our country with Becky in their decked-out motorhome. Pudge belonged to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and was a Meals-on-Wheels lady. She was generous, patient, kind and loved her family, friends and neighbors. She especially loved and missed her mother "Granna" and was the best daughter a mom could have. Her dad christened her "Pudgy" at birth. The name stuck for 83 years. She was the matriarch of our family and each of us has a personal story and memory to remind us of just how remarkable our Aunt Pudge was. Friends will be received from 4-7 on Tuesday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Irwin, PA.
