June D. Kastronis, 70, of McKeesport, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside. Born July 28, 1946, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and June (Ravenscroft) Forsythe, and the wife of Christopher T. Kastronis, of McKeesport. June worked as a hair dresser in the West Mifflin area until retirement. She was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701, Punxsutawney Eagles, Moose Lodge 954 and the Wallston Club in Punxsutawney. She had a passion for going fishing and will always be remembered by her family as the best cook ever. June especially loved her grandchildren and will always be watching over their activities and events. In addition to her husband, June is survived by children, Christopher T. (Amy) Kastronis Jr., of North Huntingdon, Daniel (Melissa) Kastronis, of Elizabeth, and Jarett Kastronis, of McKeesport; grandchildren, Genna, Conan and Chloe; sister, Marjorie (Tex) McIntyre, of Carnegie; brother, Richard Forsythe, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Walter, Mabel and her twin, James Forsythe. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Frank L. Szczerba, Sr., age 86, of Elizabeth, died February 18, 2017, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born June 26, 1930, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Aniela (Majkut) Szczerba. Frank was a retired self-employed excavator and in his early years he was owner operator of Mon-Yough Paving Co. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Frank enjoyed hunting and Pittsburgh Steelers football. Frank’s true passion was working the fields of his family farm and he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by children, Frank L. (Thoris) Szczerba, Jr. of Belle Vernon, George C. (Barbara) Szczerba of Belle Vernon, Lory (James) Worthington of Belle Vernon, Gary J. (Lisa) Szczerba of Sutersville and Karen (Raymond) Ott of Belle Vernon; step-children, Jake (Deborah) Warren of Mt. Lebanon and Judy Mann of Dublin, VA; 11 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Patricia M. "Patty" Moss, age 63 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Born December 19, 1953 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Sylvia (Cegelski) Skibinski, and loving wife of the late John S. Moss. Patty was the Vice President and Manager for PNC Bank in McKeesport for 33 years, where she was a friendly and familiar face to all of those in the community. In her free time, she enjoyed taking trips to the casino, going to craft shows, playing bingo and visiting Deep Creek Lake. Most importantly, she loved the time that was spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a special way of making memories with her family that will always be cherished. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly "Bev" (Shawn) Patterson of Bethel Park and Melissa "Missy" (Ryan) Pokorny of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Ryan Rae, Jacob John, Logan Alexander, Olivia "Livi" Paige and Alexis "Lexi" Noelle; siblings, Carol (Robert) Lovas, Donna (Charles) Elyes and Michael Skibinski; mother-in-law, Helen (the late Samuel) Moss; her beloved fur-grandbaby, Nittany; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family. Loretta A. Sharp, age 83, of McKeesport passed away on February 10, 2017. Born November 10, 1933 in McKeesport she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth ( Tomkowitz) Sharp.  Loretta worked at the Thurman Candy Company, U.S. Steel, and Shop-N-Save in the meat department. She loved her animals and enjoyed watching cooking shows. Loretta is survived by her sister Marcella Szymarek of New Stanton and brother Frank (Ruth Fey) Sharp of Tucson AZ and many nieces, nephews, great and also great great nieces and nephews. Loretta is preceded in death by brothers; Edwin and Edmund Sharp, brother in law Walter Szymarek, and sister in law Marie Sharp. Mary (Tokar) Mowrey, age 95 of Liberty Borough, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on January 26,2017.  Born October 4, 1921 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Zustulka) Ploskina and the wife of the late Stanley Tokar and Rowland Mowrey .  Mary was the owner and cosmetologist of Mary’s Beauty Shop for over 50 years and was a member of Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church.  She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Dan) Beran and Wendy (Kurt) Blotzer; grandchildren, Dawn (Todd) Scranton, Danielle Kemp, Deana (Mike) Campbell, Dan (Jen) Beran, Angela (Patrick) Smith, Adam Blotzer, Kelsey (Lee) Davidson, and Robert Blotzer; brother, Emil Ploskina and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by sons, Stanley and Gerald Tokar; brothers, Paul, Peter, Andrew, Mike, John, and Charles Ploskina and sister, Helen Scott.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church at 10 a.m.  Fr. Walter Belinsky, 89 of White Oak, died January 25, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport.  Born April 24, 1927 in Wall, he was the son of the late Samuel and Bertha (Dumbrosky) Belinsky and the beloved husband of the late Ellen (Simurda) Belinsky for 59 years.  He worked as a butcher at Marracini’s and was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701.  He is survived by his brother, John Belinsky and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by siblings, Magdaline Wiltuk, Margaret Aiello, Florence Baron, Caroline Biondi, Stella  Zigarovich, Mildred Pardi, Demeter Belinsky, Verna Tasillo, and Helen Carnahan.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, January 27, 2016 from 2-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Angela of Merici Church.  Fr. Edward "Eddie" Paul Reganick

Edward "Eddie" Paul Reganick, age 68 of White Oak, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on January 25, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born September 23, 1948 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Chavis) Reganick, and loving husband of Roberta (Green) Reganick. Eddie was a proud graduate of Duquesne High School and went on to work for US Steel as a bargeman until his retirement after more than 28 years of service. In his free time, you could often find Eddie on a softball field playing the game he loved. He was a professional softball player for the Pittsburgh Hardhats and played for many of the area leagues. When not playing a game of ball, Eddie loved to spend time fishing, doing woodwork, and going to all the local flea markets to find more fishing gear and tools to tinker with. To say that he was a “handy-man” would be an understatement. He was always there to help family, friends, or a neighbor in need, whether it be a simple household problem or re-pointing a whole chimney. He also had a knack for buying old cars, or as he would say, "A-1 shape cars" and fixing them up to resell. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family and all those he had the chance to meet. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Aaron (Julie) Elm of Acme, Lisa (Phil) Siano of South Riding, VA, and Bill (Patty) Elm of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Jake, Rebecca, Josh, Aaron Jr., and Kailey; brothers, George Reganick of Duquesne and John "Tubby"Reganick of McKeesport; and nephew, Michael Reganick of Neville Island. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Reganick. Dorene R. Bayura, age 72, of McKeesport, died on January 13, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born August 14, 1944 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Elizabeth M. (Donovan) Skovran and the wife of the late Thomas L. Bayura Sr. Dorene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (Grammy B). She retired as an assistant cook from the former Glennshire Woods nursing home where she worked for 12 years. It was pleasing to her to help cook for the residents and to make some very dear friends along the way, especially her co-workers from the kitchen. She was also a Vietnam War era veteran, serving in the Marines. She liked to cook, crochet, craft, enjoyed coloring as of lately, and loved reading Sci-Fi, romance, and fantasy novels. Dorene is survived by her children: Thomas L. (Angela) Bayura Jr, Dorene Bayura, and William J. Bayura; grandchildren: Hayden C. and Nathan T. Bayura; siblings: Joseph E. Skovran, Michael G. (Tess) Skovran, Joann (Lance) Behm, Joyce M. Skovran, John R. (Karen) Skovran, Cheryl A. (Joe) Yusavage and Elizabeth M. Skovran. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorene is preceded in death by siblings: Harriet Forrest, William A. Skovran and Anna Marie Skovran. Samantha Pliska, age 33 of Chicago, formerly of White Oak, passed away on December 6, 2016.  Born on May 25, 1983 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Robert "Bob" Pliska and the late Michelle (Sullivan) Pliska.  She was a graduate of Penn State University, DePaul University College of Law and  also studied in Australia.  Samantha was the account manager for Extreme Reach Digital Media and Software Company.  Her love for travel and learning were apparent through her numerous adventurous trips abroad to such countries as Australia, Fiji and New Zealand to name a few. In addition to her father she is survived by maternal aunts, Geri (Michael) Zona, Sharyn (R.Q.)
