William O. Beitler, age 85 of Coulterville, died Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was born on September 10, 1932 in Dravosburg and was the son of the late Charles O. and Helen Miller Beitler and the husband of the late Carol J. Swacus Beitler. He served in the Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at US Steel National Tube in McKeesport until he retired.

Carl Ronald Keck, age 85 of West Mifflin, died Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born August 13, 1932 in New Eagle, the son of the late Carl William and Edith Ackman Keck. Ronald was the owner of the former Keck’s Dairy and Keck’s Famous Restaurant in Wilson and Clairton, PA, where he retired from after more than thirty years in business.

Arliss Joyce Harper, age 78, of Glassport, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She was born in McKeesport on February 26, 1940. She is the daughter of the late Kenneth and the late Mary Grace Evans Jones. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Lewandosky, John Fasiska, and James H. Harper, Jr.
Arliss was employed at the Amvets in McKeesport for several years.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Lynn (Thurman D.) Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas, Daniel (Evelyn) Lewandosky of Sutersville, John (Christine) Fasiska of Boynton Beach, Florida and Kelly (Rod) Brinker of Rillton; grandchildren, Monique Semian, Malory Bailey, Ryan Fasiska and Derek Fasiska; great-grandchildren, Haley, Miranda, Ethan, Haley, Nolan, Alex and Conor; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Terrance and Andrew Dzvonick. She is preceded in death by Ronald, Charles and Robert Jones, Dolores Kooy, Arlene Lay, and Darrell Dzvonick. A special thank you to her doctors, David Harinstein, Kevin Kane, Susan Rakfal and Family Hospice & Palliative Care; and also for their wonderful care, Andrew “Buddy” and Debra Dzvonick.
Services were held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177).

Rocco “Rocky” R. Tedesco, 94 of McKeesport, PA passed away on April 17, 2018 in Meadville, PA. He was born on January 22, 1924 in Fayette County, PA son of the late Frank Tedesco and Anna Marie (DiPierro) Tedesco. Rocco married Dorothy H. Schmipf on March 1, 1947. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2008. Rocco served in the Army as part of the Blackhawk Division. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with a Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and a Victory Medal. Rocco was the owner and operator of Cannon-Tedesco Concrete. He enjoyed neighborhood activities, flower gardens and helping others in his community.

Yolanda Majzer, age 57, of McKeesport, died April 13, 2018. She was born in St. Croix, Virgina Islands on June 1, 1960. She is the daughter of Phoebie Henry Monell of Elizabeth and the late Marciano Monell. She was a former bus driver for PA Coach Lines for approximately 28 years.

Carmelita A. Halaszynski, age 74, of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018. She was born in Puerto Rico on July 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Antonio and Facunda Rivera Martinez Guzman, and the wife of the late William N. Halaszynski. She was employed at Forbes Regional Hospital for many years and was a member of Corpus Christi Church in McKeesport. Carmelita enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time with her family.

She was born on May 3, 1983 and is the daughter of Joseph Carl and Cheryl Joy Lorincz Stipkovits of McKeesport. She was previously employed as a medical secretary at Premier Medical and at UPMC, Braddock Hospital.

George Boros, age 86, of McKeesport died Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born in Braddock on February 3, 1932 and is the son of the late Andrew and Marie Matta Boros. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie Kopolovich Boros. George served in the Ary duringthe Korea war. He was employed at Mesta Machine in Homestead and then at Thermal Industries in Murrysville. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels in McKeesport, he loved listening and dancing to Polka music; in fact, everyone wanted to “dance the Polka with Uncle George.” He had a kind smile that made you smile and everyone enjoyed spending time with him.

Sallie L. Prihode, age 81 of McKeesport, died Saturday, March 24, 2018. She was born June 16, 1936 in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Ernest and Judy Welsh Lofstrom, and wife of the late Edward P. Prihode. Sallie graduated from McKeesport School of Nursing and worked forty-two years as a nurse for Dr. Laurence T. Ritchie in White Oak, until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 47 years. She was a member of the Clairton Chapter #316, past Matron of White Oak Chapter #542, past District Deputy, and 1989 Grand Warder of the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania.
