Charles R. Jobe, 79, of Port Vue, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017. Born April 15, 1937, in North Braddock, he was a son of the late Peter C. and Velma Christy Jobe and husband of the late Cecilia Anna Sharf Jobe. He served in the Marine Corps and was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Barber School. He retired from US Steel as a Quencher Pump Tender after 35 years of service, was a member of St. Mark Parish, an active member of SOAR and Port Vue Senior Citizens, square-danced with the Franklin Squares and really enjoyed swing dancing. He is survived by his daughters, Charmaine Ann (Don) Greco, of Beaver Falls, and Shelley Meyers, of Pleasant Hills; and grandchildren, Donnie, Marcus, Cara Marie and Cecilia. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at STRIFFLER'S OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177. Paul Keenan, age 84, of White Oak died on Saturday January 21, 2017. He was born in McKeesport on October 11, 1932 and is the son of the late James and Gladys Jordan Keenan. He retired from USS National Tube as an engineer and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member at St. Angela Merici Church, the Croatian Club in Versailles, 6th ward EBA Club in McKeesport, and the White Oak America Legion Post 701. He was the former senior vice commander of the East McKeesport VFW post 8430, and past governor of the former Moose Club in McKeesport.

 

He is survived by his wife; Dolores DiPerna Keenan, step-sons; Paul (Linda) Skalski of West Mifflin, Peter (Cynthia) Skalski of Essex, MD, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was raised by her grandparents William and Emma Collins after her mother died. She was the wife of the late William Harold Ferry.

She is survived by children, Cheryl Pistorius of Port Vue, Judy (Barry) Miller of Lenoir City, TN, Kathleen (Timothy) Vargo of Versailles, and Michael (Dana) Ferry of Glassport. She was preceded in death by her son William Harold Ferry and grandson Sean. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law; Patsy Ferry Harris of North Huntingdon, grandchildren; Holly, Crystal, Christian, Tammy, Jeana, Matthew, Timothy, Alaina, Hayden, and Anna; 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

John A. Novak, Jr., age 68 of Elizabeth, died Thursday, December 29, 2016.  He was born in Pittsburgh on July 17, 1948 and was the son of the late Melda Smith Novak. He was a graduate of Point Park University, an entrepreneur, and a disabled veteran. He was a medic in the navy and served during the Vietnam Era.  He was a member of the Duquesne-McKeesport Lodge #731 F&AM where he was a Master Mason 3rd Degree. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodcarving.

He is survived by his wife, Marian Rusnock Novak of Elizabeth; father, John A. Novak, Sr. of Pittsburgh; brother, William Novak, Sr. of Cranberry Twp.; nephew, William Novak, Jr. of Cranberry; also great-nephews and great-nieces.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5th from 5:30 pm until the time of service at 7 pm at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177) with a Masonic service following at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday, Jan. 6th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
