Faith Ann Jones Bennett left this earth peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024 after succumbing to dementia at the age of 65. She spent the majority of her life in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where she was born on July 28, 1958. Her final years of life were in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband so she could be near her daughter and grandchildren (whom affectionately came to know her as Yaya). She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Shirley Mason Weinberg Kohn, age 95, of White Oak, died peacefully on June 12, 2024. Shirley was born in McKeesport on July 22, 1928 to Rose and Joseph Weinberg and was named after silent movie star Shirley Mason. Shirley married Herbert M. Kohn in 1947 and raised their two children, Cheri and Mitchell, in McKeesport. She was a lifelong member of Temple B’nai Israel. After her husband died in 1973, she became a manager for the R.N. Koch jewelry company, working her way up to manage stores across the entire Eastern seaboard. She traveled weekly and sported glamorous looks that went well with her hobby of disco dancing at the Holiday Inn in Monroeville with her longtime dance partner, Jones Costello. After her retirement, Shirley dedicated the next 30 years to volunteering at The Intersection in McKeesport, which was founded in 1972 by the Sisters of Mercy. She helped countless clients navigate paperwork and connect with services. She became close friends with both the nuns and the clients, many of whom looked forward to her smiling face as the greeter and receptionist.

Hall See Lee, age 88, a 70-year resident of McKeesport, PA, died on Monday, May 13, 2024. Born on November 6, 1935 in Canton China, he is the son of the late Henry King and Yee Chin Fay Thor. Hall immigrated to McKeesport, PA as a young boy. He graduated from McKeesport High School and worked at his family’s Chinese restaurant, Yee Wah, while attending the University of Pittsburgh for Civil Engineering. He eventually took over ownership and ran Yee Wah until its closing in 1968. He then applied his strong work ethic and knowledge at Westinghouse Airbrake and Adtranz. Hall often showed his love for family and friends with his love of cooking, greeting all with firm pats on the back enveloped within his bear-like hugs. His extraordinary love and dedication to family was his center for which he will be dearly missed.

Francis Glenn Show, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of White Oak, passed away on May 9, 2024. He was born on August 17, 1930, in Uniontown, PA, to the late Harold and Flora Herrington Show. He was raised in Farmington, PA where he attended a one room school, and then Masontown where he graduated from high school. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he served in the Korean War. Upon his return, he attended Penn State University and moved to the McKeesport/White Oak area. In 1956, he served as the Director of Business Operations at the Penn State McKeesport Center where classes were conducted at that time in a school located in Dravosburg, PA. As property was acquired by Penn State at the present location near Renzie Park, he took great pride in overseeing the construction, building, development, and business of the entire campus until his retirement in 1988. Francis was employed at Penn State for 32 years.
