Donald R. Gold, age 94 of North Huntingdon, passed away on October 31, 2024. He was born on August 21, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, New York, a son of the late Arthur Gold and Lilian Berlin Gold. Arthur was a member of the Congregation Emanu-El Israel Synagogue and a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. In his free time, Donald was a swimming officiant and also enjoyed photography. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his late wife, Diane Tauder, and one sister Anita Boas. He is survived by three sons, Duff Gold (Tracy), Dean Gold, and Dan Gold (Kristen), two daughters, Dana Gold and Dale Gold, and five grandchildren, Micaiah, Desmond, Abra, Dakota, and Kaelin. A memorial gathering will be held at Moments Event Hall, 231 Jennie Drive, North Huntingdon on Thursday, November 7, from 6 -9 PM. Mary Lou Jeffcoat, age 55, of McKeesport, died October 26, 2024, at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 31, 1969, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence O. Craig, Jr. and Mary Holden and the widow of the late Jesse Lee Jeffcoat.
Mary was a retired home health nurses aide. She was a member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed, traveling, camping, and was a motorcylce enthusiast. She will always be remembered for being a free spirit and loving life to the fullest.

James Michael Ondrako, age 84, of McKeesport, passed away on October 27, 2024, at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. Born on September 14, 1940, in Uniontown, he was the son of the late John and Mildred (Crable) Ondrako and the beloved husband of Nadine (Gouker) Ondrako. James served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty and dedication. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701. Professionally, James worked as a draftsman at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, retiring after many dedicated years. A man of diverse interests, he enjoyed fishing and was a collector of knives, watches, and clocks. He was also a talented artist, sharing his gifts through photography, painting, metalsmithing, and drawing. In his spare time, he found satisfaction in tinkering in his basement, fixing things, and working on cars.

Betty E. Phillips, 84 of Glassport passed away at UPMC McKeesport on October 28, 2024. Betty was born in Glassport on Dec. 15, 1939, to the late George and Hazel (Irene) March. She is the wife of the late Duane (Ziggy) Phillips. Betty is survived by daughter Kerry Phillips of Queensbury, NY son Duane Phillips of Glassport; granddaughters Lindsay , Kaitlyn and Jacquelyn Fuller and great granddaughter Alaina; brothers Robert (Helen) March, Tim (Karen) March and sister Mary Waugaman; nieces and nephews. Betty enjoyed listening to old country music, polkas and The Gaithers Christian music. She previously worked at Lawson’s Nursing Home in the dietary department. Sandra N. "Sandy" Anderson, 79, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born February 28, 1945 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late David A. and Sara N. (Haywood) Boyd. She was the wife of 36 years to the late George Robert Anderson, who passed away June 17, 2022. She worked for over 30 years as a title clerk for Biondi Lincoln and Mercury in Monroeville and also sold Avon products for many years. Sandy was a faithful Christian woman who was a member of The Elizabeth Baptist Church and a former member of The Park Baptist Church. She sang in the choir at both locations. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was also a second mom and office mom to many. She was beloved to everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Vargo, Sr., who died on November 21, 2022. After raising her children, Kathleen was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for various nursing homes. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and loved playing Bingo, where she would win all the time.

Daniel J. Evans (Pap Dan), 74, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, October
26, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born on June 30, 1950, in
Braddock, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John and Helen (Mihalov) Evans.
Dan was a faithful member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church,
Duquesne, where he followed in the footsteps of his father and served as a
Cantor his entire adult life. He graduated with a bachelor’s from Duquesne
University where he met his wife, Susanne (Gillam) and quickly started his
family. He then worked his entire career for U.S. Steel Corporation, over 35
yrs, starting in the mills and working his way to Director of IT and
Infrastructure. In retirement he enjoyed golfing with friends, his support
groups, serving his church, time with family, and watching the Pirates,
Steelers, and Penguins. Pap Dan will be remembered among other things as
a lover of buying Christmas presents, thrilled with finding a bargain, as a
loyal friend, a dedicated father and grandfather, a committed volunteer and
respecter of a good prank. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death
by his long-time partner Elaine M. Baker. He is survived by his three children,
Jennifer M. Magee (Shawn), Gregory D. Evans (Sarah), and Nicholas J. Evans;
his beloved grandchildren Emma-Kate Magee, Anna Magee, and Theodore
Evans; his two sisters, Pamela A. Donkin (Wayne) and Patricia M. Weidman
(Dennis), plus nieces and nephews and great niece and nephew.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, November 1,
2024, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc. Richford and

Mabel Dorothy Bauer, 102, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born August 13, 1922 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late William Otis and Catherine (Schweichert) Cramer. She was the wife of the late Jerome V. Bauer who passed away December 21, 2003. Mabel was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish; St. Angela Church, White Oak, and was a member of the Christian Mothers there. She was also a member of an area Quilting Club. She retired from Equibank in Pittsburgh in 1986 after 11 years of service and had previously worked in the accounting department of US Steel from 1940-1950.

Lavon Halpern, 95, of White Oak, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Lavon was born December 6, 1928 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Kassler and the late Anna (Stulpin) Graham. She was the wife of 64 years to the late Robert D. Halpern, who passed away January 31, 2013. Lavon and her high school sweetheart, Bob, organized annual reunions well into their 80’s. She was a dedicated member of Mary, Mother of God Parish- St. Angela Merici Church, since the early days at Rainbow Gardens. Lavon was involved with Bingo, the fish fry, the parish festival and many other groups into her 90s. To celebrate her many volunteer activities, Lavon was awarded The Manifesting the Kingdom Award at St. Paul’s Cathedral in 2015. She will be greatly missed.

A lifelong sportsman, he could often be found on the golf course, in a hunting blind, or chatting with his buddies at the McKeesport Sportsmen’s Association gun club & Hartford Heights Fireman’s club. Dave was a storyteller extraordinaire and truly loved his dogs - he was never far from Teagan, his beloved English springer spaniel.
He is survived by wife Suzanne, son Joseph (Kristen), daughter Carrie (Don Lee), daughter Dana (Ben Goldberg-Morse), and grandchildren Travis, Hunter, Calder, and Grier. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Bob) Giles. Seeing all three of his children become parents was one of Dave’s greatest and proudest joys in life.

Patrice Diane (Anthony) Currin, age 73, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Pittsburgh. Born on June 4, 1951, Patrice was known for her radiant smile and the joy she brought to those around her. Her career was marked by her exceptional service as a waitress at Mike's Lunch in Mt. Oliver and as a bartender at Dot's Family Restaurant in McKeesport. Patrice retired at the age of 62, leaving behind many cherished memories in the community.
Patrice enjoyed both reading and traveling, hobbies that brought her great pleasure and peace. She is survived by her children, John Paul Currin and Jessica F. Pietz; grandchildren, Thomas Moran Jr., Samantha Barker, Todd & Cara Carman, Stefanie, Jayme, Amy, Amanda, and Christina Currin, Devon Lallier; She also leaves behind her sister, Kelly Ann Yoder. She was preceded in death by her Loving Mother Marcella Virginia Farrington, The love of her life William (Billy) Ford, Daughter Christina Lynn Currin and great-grandson Jayden Carman.

Doris Elinor Morris, age 100 of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 in UPMC McKeesport. Born January 9, 1924 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Lewis McClelland Barnes and Olga Gertrude Barnes. The oldest member of Park Baptist Church in Versailles and its "matriarch," she was known as "Aunt Dory" to her fellow church members. The church was the most important part of her week, both spiritually and socially. Doris loved to play cards, especially Skip-Bo with her family. She was warm, loving, and loved by all. She had also formerly worked at The Famous department store in downtown McKeesport, prior to the devastating McKeesport fire of 1976, and as a bookkeeper for the coal mine where her father-in-law was a foreman. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, the late James M. Morris, her son Gary Morris, her daughter Marilyn Stanesic, her granddaughter Carrie Swanson; and her six sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Victoria of Sunland, CA; her grandchildren Saffron Modes of McKeesport, Leigh (Todd) Daughenbaugh of Delaware, OH, and Beth Stanesic of Delaware, OH; her great-grandchildren Megan (Sterling) Modes and Jenn (Eddie) Lysen, Drew (Leslie) and Dylan Swanson, and Joshua (Mara) and Ryan Daughenbaugh; and her great-great-grandchild Griffin.

Raymond A. "Ray" Kisselovich, 85, lifelong resident of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024. He was born in Elizabeth Township on August 3, 1939 and was the son of the late Joseph J. Kisselovich, and the late Hermina (Pelikan) Kytchak. He graduated EF High School in 1958 and served in the US Army from March 1962 - February 1968 (active & reserves). Ray was a life time member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish - St. Michael's Church, the Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company, as well as the American Boxer Club and the Allegheny Boxer Club. He was employed for 30+ years by Pennsylvania American Water before retiring in 1998. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, Pittsburgh sports, and showing his AKC champion Boxers, which included motor home travel to locations between Wisconsin and New York to points south all the way to Florida.

She was born January 25, 1967 in Jeannette, and is the daughter of R. Terence "Terry" & Carol (Gilbert) Newell of North Huntingdon. She was a graduate of Norwin High School class of 1985 and of Bradford Business School. Sondra loved to travel and was a real estate agent in Ohio, Colorado, California, and South Carolina. She also worked as an administrative assistant for law practices in Washington, DC and California. Sondra is remembered by her family as being exceptionally giving, talented, and creative with incredible fashion sense. Her husband, Paul, always said she was a wonderful cook, and they enjoyed entertaining. She also loved all animals and cared for many that needed her comfort.

John was a lifetime member of the 11th Ward Club, a lifetime member and former Assistant Fire Chief of the White Oak Volunteer Fire Company #1, a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701, and a member and past President of the Equitable Gas Retirees Club Division E. He enjoyed woodworking and had built most of the furniture in his house and trips to the casino.

Carol Rose Knapton, 81, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024. She was born on October 20, 1942 in North Olmsted, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Habina) Hrivnak. She was the loving wife of James Grant Knapton, Jr. Carol was a graduate of Notre Dame College where she recieved a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a teacher for many years in Ohio and Indiana before teaching at St. Dennis Catholic School in Versailles. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Church, St. Patrick parish. She was also a member of the WMBU Club and the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens organization. She enjoyed reading, painting, crossword puzzles and trying new things. She especially loved watching and taking care of her grandchildren.

Joseph Lucarelli Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the age of 72. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 40 years Marilyn. David LaRoyal Wilson, 91, of McKeesport, was born March 2, 1933, in Fitz Henry, PA. He was the beloved son of the late Floyd and Florence (Miller) Wilson.
David was raised in Fitz Henry, PA, and attended South Huntington High School. After which he served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then worked at BFGoodrich in McKeesport and Dow Chemical in West Mifflin when he retired. After retirement, he could enjoy his favorite hobbies, Oldies and Doo-op dancing and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and create fond memories with his loving family and friends.
David went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2024, while he resided at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport, PA.

June enjoyed shopping for and selling treasures at the local flea markets, playing bingo and cards with her friends and family, and playing the slots at the casino. Richard Alan Harris, 74, of Duquesne, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at home. The beloved husband of Anne Marie (McLaughlin) Harris, Richard was born September 15, 1950, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Stuart Marvin and Anna Rita (Mentzer) Harris. Richard served four years in the Air Force at Langley Air Force Base, where he trained and worked as a carpenter. Richard led a life of dedication as a young man. He served as an altar boy at Saint James Church in Wilkinsburg, and he spent several years as a member of the Boy Scouts of America in Troop One, based at the Mifflin Avenue Methodist Church in Wilkinsburg, where he reached the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of the Order of the Arrow. Though retired at the time of his passing, Rick previously worked as a fabricator at Spectro Chemical and as a courier at Gateway Travel and NAPA Auto Parts. His first love was working with his father, Stuart, as a carpenter. Richard was a member of the Royal Outing Club of Evans City. A descendant of founding members, he celebrated his 50th year of membership there and had served in various offices, including club president. He leaves behind many longtime friends in this community and others. A devout member of the Park Baptist Church, Richard participated in both the Men’s Breakfast and the Bible Study there. “Uncle Rick” was also a dedicated family man who would spend his mornings sending messages to his numerous nieces and nephews each day. He supported youth in many ways, including acting as a Little League coach and watching over his grandchildren. Rick was a fervent Steelers fan. But his favorite thing was spending time with his wife, Anne Marie. The couple were to celebrate forty years of marriage this year.

She was born May 14, 1941 and was raised in McKeesport by the late James and Gertrude (Canfield) Gabriel, Sr. She was the wife of 58 years to the late Salvatore Thomas Orlando, before his passing in April 2019. Mary Lou was best known for her contagious laugh, remaining positive through the toughest of times, and her unparallel strength to overcome the odds. Her greatest joy in life was spending time her family during summer vacations at the Jersey Shore, holiday gatherings, Sunday dinners, and grilling in the backyard. Mary Lou worked hard her entire life - caring not only for her children and grandchildren, but as a compassionate Nursing Assistant at McKeesport Hospital for 20 years. Later in life she enjoyed working the front desk at De Blasio's Designs where she always greeted people with a smile and made many long-time friends.

Surviving him is his wife MaryAnn, his daughter Stephanie (late Spank) Zabelsky of Duquesne, PA, his loving grandchildren Jenna (fiancé, Alex Weber) and Jake Zabelsky of Duquesne, PA, his sister Kathy (Dennis) Rakowski of South Park, PA and his beloved dog Xena. He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (Duquesne-Lodge 320), the American Croatian Club of Duquesne, the TM Social Club of Duquesne, and the Pine Run Outboard Club of Bunola, PA. Joe enjoyed boating the 3 rivers with his family and close friends and attending the picnics at Aleo Lake. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends on Mondays and Thursdays at Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth, PA.

Judith Anne (Hilton) Kuzman, age 86 and a long time resident of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Born February 25, 1938 in Patterson Heights, Beaver Co., PA, she was the only child of the late Harold E. and Elizabeth (Tucker) Hilton and spent her childhood in Mt. Lebanon. Judy worked for the Bethel Park School District for 20 years in various positions and was a former president of the Bethel Park VFD Ladies' Auxiliary, a former chairman of Bethel Park Recreation, and will be remembered for dedicating her life to the youth of Bethel Park. She was proud to be one of the first Candy Stripers at St. Clair Hospital where she met her husband when he was there as a patient.

We are sad to announce the death of Dawn Marie (Jacob) Marincic of North Huntingdon, after a brief illness, but a long life (85).
She was born and died at McKeesport Hospital. She worked as a dental assistant for 26 years after receiving certification from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. She was also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician.
She volunteered as an adult literacy tutor with the Westmoreland County Literacy Council for 15 years, where she made lifelong friends. She was an avid reader herself.

Sarah Jean “Sally” (Tucker) Vinsick, of White Oak, peacefully passed on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the age of 89.
Sally enjoyed many things in life including shopping and trips to the casino. She loved all holiday, especially Christmas. She loved to cook. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with all of them.
Sally was the loving mother of Denise (late Craig) McCoy, Nick (Missy) Vinsick, Joe Vinsick, and the late Renee Wasilewski. She was the adoring grandmother of John Vinsick, Sean Vinsick, Vanessa Vinsick, and Cameron (Ashlie) Clark; great-grandmother of Krista Vinsick, Nathan Vinsick, Ricco Vinsick, Max Vinsick, and Cynder Clark. Sally is also survived by her sister, Maggie Lorenc, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to her husband and daughter, she was preceded in passing by her father, Joseph Tucker, mother, Catherine (Mochan) Slovina, step-father, John Slovina, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Daryl Juno Newby, 71, of Duquesne, was born January 10, 1953, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rester and Eula Stephens Smith. Daryl was the youngest of seven siblings.
Daryl departed this life on September 15, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport, PA. Her passing was exactly seven years later, the same day as the love of her life. This would be the completion of their beautiful love story.
Daryl attended school at the Duquesne School District where she graduated. She was employed at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in the Dietary Department, and she was a former member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Duquesne, PA. Daryl loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by them all.
