Dolores M. Cheke, 85, of Clarion, formerly of West Mifflin, died July 18, 2018. She is the daughter of the late William and Mary (Schuchert) Manns and beloved wife of the late William Cheke. She is survived by her son Bill (Marlene) Cheke and daughter Lisa (Bob) Geer; grandchildren Elise (Josh) Williams, Bela (Erin) Webb, Malinda (Mitchell) Rearick, Josselin Geer, Robert Geer, Jr., Michael Geer, Jacob Geer and Gerry Geer; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Joan Naccarato and Bernice Monzak; also nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her son Dr. Laird Cheke. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Mon. 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held Tues. 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Karen Parsh. Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Dolores H. “Dolly” Navaroli Popovich, 91, passed away Saturday July 14, 2018. She was born October 28, 1926 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Gust and Catherine Bosnak Navaroli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny, Gus and Joe Navaroli and sister Kathryn Pugh. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, McKeesport.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Catherine Schneider of McKeesport and Christine (Michael) Germek of McKeesport, with whom she resided. Three #1 grandchildren, Jason W. Schneider of Miami, Florida, and Amber and Kristin Germek, both of McKeesport; Sister Mollie Claar of Greenock; Sister-in-laws Joanne Navaroli of Westmorland City and Shirley Navaroli of Delmont; Many nieces and nephews and her precious grand puppies Daisy and Autumn.
Dolores was a retired medical transcriptionist in the Pathology Dept. of McKeesport Hospital for over 25 years. She loved to sew and was a wonderful seamstress. She was a devout Catholic, a “real Italian”, coffee expert, loved watching her old scary Boris Karloff movies and being a loving mom and grandmother.

James P. Bongartz, 80, of Whitaker, died June 29, 2018. He was the son of the late Casper and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Bongartz. He is the husband of the late Patricia (Gracan) Bongartz. He is survived by his daughter Kelly Bongartz; sister Alberta Petruzzi, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters and a brother. William R. Safko, 69 of West Mifflin, died June 26, 2018. He is the son of the late Michael and Caroline Safko. He is survived by his sister Carolyn (the late Robert) Munro; also nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Anne) Safko and sister Dorothy (late John) McNansky. Bill was a graduate of West Mifflin North H.S. and Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam era. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and Tuesday from noon to 1:00 pm at which time a funeral blessing will be held. Audrey J. Westerlund, 93 of West Mifflin, died June 18, 2018. She is the daughter of the late James and Annetta (William) Stammer and beloved wife of the late E. Glenn Westerlund. Audrey is survived by her son Charles Dean (Susan) Clemons; grandchildren Sam Clemons, Beth Maha, Glenn Clemons, Bob Clemons, Ricky Guest and Michelle Smith; also great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is a retired cashier for Jefferson Regional Medical Center, a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church and former member of the Duquesne AARP. Karl E. "Sonny" Haney, 86, of West Mifflin, died March 2, 2018. He is the son of the late Karl and Bertha (Evans) Haney. Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Madeline (Shidel) Haney; children Karl (Jillian) Haney, Kathleen (the late Nicholas) Bracco, Patti Walendziewicz and Marcia (Chris) Rogers; grandchildren Anthony (Tanaz), Joseph and Leeanne Bracco, Andrew, Erin and Danielle Walendziewicz; Kaitlyn Haney; Samantha and Nicholas Rogers; great grandchildren Gabriella, Isabella, Adalina, Hannah, Kasey, Aiden and Elijah. Karl was retired from Keystone Auto Parts in Christy Park; was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; American Legion Post 701 and served in the US Army Korean War where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
