Warren H. McCarthy Sr., age 67, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born February 28, 1951 in McKeesport, a son of Shirley (Dannenhauer) McCarthy and the late Harry G. McCarthy. He was proud to be a truck driver and volunteered as a fireman at Dept. 4 in Hartford Heights, Dept. 10 in Adamsburg and most recently at Dept. 61 in Hyde Park. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Dale McCarthy. He is survived by his loving wife of over 27 years Norma (Dempsey) McCarthy; children Warren McCarthy Jr., Justin McCarthy, Christopher (Tarah) McCarthy and Melanie McCarthy; many grandchildren; and brother Kim McCarthy.

George L. Margo, age 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was born December 13, 1924 in Homestead, a son of the late George and Suzanna (Martin) Margo. He was a World War II Army veteran that went onto work for Westinghouse Corporation for over 30 years as a chemical engineer before retiring. He was also member of the American Legion in Irwin. In Addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Bertha (Boldizar) Margo; son Richard Nagy; and his two brothers. He is survived by his daughters Suzanne Herring and Marsha (Joseph Miller) Zaval both of Washington Twp.; grandchildren Melissa Zaval and Michael Herring; and great grandchildren Raquel and Derek Herring and Trillium Huey.

William F. Malt, 94, of Larimer, died February 6, 2018 at home. He was born May 26, 1923 in Greensburg, a son of Dora (Malt) Hough and was also preceded in death by his son William F. Malt Jr., a brother Joseph Hough, and a sister Wilma Duncan. Bill was a retired employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding and an Army veteran of WW II. He was a longtime active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Larimer, a charter member of Larimer Volunteer Fire Department and longtime bartender at the Larimer Fireman’s Club. He is survived by his wife of nearly seventy one years Anna Mae (Wright) Malt; his children Robert J. “Zeke” Malt and his wife Amy of Larimer, Bruce E. Malt and his wife Brenda of Confluence, and Janet Bettencourt and her husband Ronald of North Huntingdon; a grandson Shawn Malt; step grandchildren Brian Burkett, and Jody Roe; great grandchildren Austin and Braxton; sisters Sara Geiger of Larimer and Dorothy Green of Plum Boro; also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a Navy veteran who went on to work as a finance manager for numerous car dealerships for over 30 years before retiring. On his days off, you would always find him on the golf course. He is survived by his daughters Paula (Michael) Giran of North Huntingdon and Brandi Wolfram of Irwin; granddaughter Ciara Giran; sisters Susie (Robert) Golier of Pittsburgh, and Barbara (Alvin) McElfresh and Victoria (Dick) Muckinhaupt both of Venice, Florida; his very special aunt Lois Meisel, also of Venice, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was a retired employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding, a member of Linway Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, an avid bowler, an excellent pianist, and was wonderful at handicapping horseracing. She is survived by two grandchildren Lauren Lisa and James Michael Izatt, brothers H. Carl Aston of Wilmerding and A. Craig Aston of FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was a retired dispatcher for the Port Authority of Allegheny County, a Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. He enjoyed his golfing and bowling leagues, was an avid reader and history buff, and loved to fish. His Sunday was not complete if he could not complete the New York Times crossword puzzle in an hour. In addition to his parents and grandparents he is preceded in death by children Paul Cody and Kathleen Billings and siblings Dorothy McDermott, Terrance and Patrick Cody. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Cicco) Cody; his children Barbara Mills, Vicki Weber, Mary E. Aitkin, and Christopher Cody; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews including special niece Linda Williams.

She was born August 10, 1934 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Marie Sturchio. She retired after 20 years as a deli cook at the Foodland in Turtle Creek and enjoyed the time she spent at the Life Pittsburgh Senior Center in McKees Rocks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband John Del Grosso and second husband Jack Pape; son John Del Grosso; brother Ralph Sturchio; and sister Nancy Carnevale. Dorothy J. “Dee Jay” (Wright) Becker, of Westmoreland City, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was born September 9, 1934 in Westmoreland City, a daughter of the late William Henry and Eleanor (Wolf) Wright. She was a great wife, wonderful mother, and loving grandma to 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 3 great grandchildren. Dee Jay graduated from North Huntingdon High School, Class of 1953. While at North Huntingdon High she was a member of the marching band, never having missed a parade or half time show performing on her clarinet. She could be heard rooting for the “Bulldogs”. During her junior and senior years she was selected for the Westmoreland County Orchestra. She marched for the Manor Fireman’s Band until it disbanded in the 1950’s. The day before high school graduation she was hired as a clerk typist for Westinghouse Airbrake Company and worked there until 1959. She took ten years off to raise her two children.
