Robert E. Danforth, age 66, of McKeesport, died June 21, 2016, at UPMC Shadyside. Born February 8, 1950, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Helen I. (Balyo) Danforth.
Bob worked at US Steel Duquesne Works in his early years. He was a member of the former Riverview Baptist Church, where he happily volunteered for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friend Nancy Price.

Joanna Carrozza, age 80, of McKeesport, died June 14, 2016, at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth. Born July 30, 1935, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Helen (DellaPenna) DiVirgilio.
Joanna was an administrative assistant for 34 years at Westinghouse Electric, Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin. She was a member of St. Patrick Church. Dancing was one of Joanna’s favorite pastimes. Her first date with, Bernard “Bernie”, her husband of 61 years, was to a local dance.

Helen M. Snyder, age 80, of New Lenox, IL, formerly of McKeesport, died June 11, 2016. Born September 4, 1935, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Glowaty) Cielieska and the wife of the late Thomas Snyder.
Helen was retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she worked in various capacities in maternity, mail room and cafeteria. She was a former member of St. Mark Parish and attended St. Jude Parish, in New Lenox. She enjoyed being involved in the Port Vue Borough and volunteering for Election Day. Helen was also a Pittsburgh sports fan, a member of the Penguins Booster Club and was best known for her delicious stuffed cabbage and chicken noodle soup.

Bert Gaal, Jr., age 81 of McKeesport, died June 7, 2016, at John J. Kane Regional Center. Born May 6, 1935, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Bert and Elizabeth (Kish) Gaal, Sr. and the husband of Wanita S. (Chalfant) Gaal.
Bert retired from National Tube, where he worked as a machinist. He was a former member of First Free Evangelical Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, watching Pittsburgh Penguin games and was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan.

Mary Ann Bench, age 75, of Port Vue, died June 2, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born June 2, 1941, in Wilkinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Vella (Riffel) Perino and the wife of the late Joseph Bench.
Mary worked as a licensed cosmetologist in her early years and later as a nurses aide, until retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McKeesport. She was the past president of the Red Hat Ladies Society at Riverside Nursing Home. She enjoyed trips to the beach, crafts, bingo, and she especially enjoyed bowling with the other residents of Riverside Nursing Home.

Victor W. Molnar DDS, of McKeesport, died May 20, 2016, at Southwestern Nursing Care Center. Born June 24, 1928, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Barillo) Molnar.
Victor was a retired dentist. While maintaining a private practice in McKeesport, he often provided free dental services to McKeesport School District students. Victor was a member of the former Transfiguration of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, where he served as a trustee. He was a member of the Sierra Club, Dental Association of Western Pennsylvania, Hungarian Room Committee of Pittsburgh, and served as secretary and treasurer of the Hungarian Social Club of McKeesport.

Mike Kurka, age 91, of McKeesport, died April 22, 2016, at John J. Kane Regional Medical Center. Born November 8, 1924, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Warga) Kurka.
Mike was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a gentle man always caring for the children in his life and his loving family. He also enjoyed a good cigar.
Mike is survived by a sister, Anna Bills of McKeesport; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to Mike’s parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Peter and Mary.
