Thomas A. Feltz, age 67, of West Mifflin, died May 28, 2017, at his home. Born November 18, 1949, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Wargovich) Feltz and the husband of Sandra (Gabris) Feltz, on May 21, 2017, they celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Tom was retired from the Social Security Administration, where he worked as a claims representative. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Tom was also a US Army veteran. He enjoyed caring for his fish aquariums and his kitty cats. He especially enjoyed trips to Disney World with his loving wife. Tom was always there to lend an ear or a hand.
In addition to his wife, tom is survived by siblings, Gloria Melinchak of White oak and Patricia Vasko of North Versailles; niece, Michele (Jon) Dobrinski of Irwin; great niece and nephew, Jared and Macie Dobrinski; mother-in-law, Dorothy Ivan of White Oak; father-in-law, August Gabris of Duquesne; many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Vasko.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be celebrated Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Matthew Elanjileth will officiate. Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at Corpus Christi Church at a later date.

Naomi Elizabeth Karr Clutter, age 89, of Clairton, died May 28, 2017, at home. Born August 8, 1927, in Herminie, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Rosensteel) Mellinger and the wife of the late Francis Clutter.
Naomi dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a kind hearted soul and was loved by all. Naomi was truly the matriarch of the family and will always be remembered for her caring nature. She was best known as “Gram,” to everyone that knew her. She was a member of the former Christian Missionary Alliance, in Herminie and Clairton.
Naomi is survived by children, Dorcas “Dee” Smith of Clairton, John W. (Starlene) Karr of Richmond, VA and James R. Linda Lee Roberts, age 70, of Glassport, died May 26, 2017, at home with her loving family by her side. Born March 26, 1947, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Robert Saunier and Edna Hogle and the wife of Don Roberts. Linda retired from South Western Medical Center, where she was a billing and registration secretary with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Glassport United Methodist Church. She looked forward to socializing at the VFW in Clairton on Friday nights, followed by dinner with Don. Linda and Don were truly inseparable.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Lisa (Greg) Ploskina of Glassport, Roman Nowicki of San Diego, CA and Donny Roberts of Glassport; grandson, Jordan Ploskina of Glassport; siblings, Bob (Patricia) Saunier of White Hall, Joy Hogle, Nancy Eisel both of Mt. James Charles Patch, age 75, of Elizabeth Twp., died on Saturday May 27, 2017. He was born in McKeesport on April 21, 1942 and is the son of the late Anthony and Juanita Jordan Patch. He was a driver for Port Authority Transit for 26 years and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85. He enjoyed music, loved all the local sports teams including the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, and was a proud organ donor.

Sam was retired from the City of McKeesport, where he was a operator/mechanic, with over 30 years of service. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 1969. Sam then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Teamsters Local 205 and the American Turner’s Club. He enjoyed old cars, bowling and most of all spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Timothy Reza, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born September 3, 1933 in McKeesport, a son of the late Timothy and Mary (Hutsho) Reza. George E. Anderson, 88, of Pittsburgh, PA, departed this life, peacefully, following a short illness, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the HJ. Heinz Veteran's Community Living Center in Aspinwall, PA. He was born December 25,1928 in Pittsburgh, to the late George R. Anderson and Elizabeth Lynch Anderson and step-mother, Mary L. Jones Anderson. He graduated from Pittsburgh Public Schools, George Westinghouse High School in Homewood. Upon graduation, George enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War for three years. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the army, George attended Carnegie Tech, studying to be a draftsman, while working part-time for the U.S. Postal Services, along with many other jobs. George met and married his late wife Dolores C. Talson Anderson, and to this union, two daughters were born, Leslie Diane Florence, and Lynne Darcel. George became a full-time employee of the U.S. Postal Services, working on the railroad mail delivery, Pittsburgh to Chicago delivery route for many years. Later, until retirement, George was a supervisor at the Vista facility of the U.S. Postal Service.

Helen was a generous and giving person to everyone she knew. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her family and grandkids. Lynne Ann Barnes, age 52, of White Oak, died May 18, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born July 25, 1964, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Miller) Oleska of White Oak and the wife of James R. Barnes also of White Oak. Lynne dedicated her life to caring for her family, particularly her son Jeff. She most recently worked as a bus monitor at Pennsylvania Coachlines and before that she worked as a care taker at the White Oak Village Apartments. Lynne was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed the outdoors and knew how to catch fish better than anyone.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lynne is survived by a son, Jeffrey Barnes of White Oak; sisters, Sherry (Oleska) Roskov of White Oak, Darla Oleska of McKeesport and Jodie Oleska of White Oak; brother-in-law, Franklin Barnes of Cannonsburg; nieces and nephews, Christi Roskov, Shawn Landstrom, Melanie and Taylor Ingersoll and Karrie Oleska; also many cousins and friends. Mary Louise (Stewart) Emanuel, age 86 of North Huntingdon, went home to Heaven on Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born October 3, 1930, to the late Raymond Stewart and Irene (Saunders) Stewart. Born and raised in Wilkinsburg, she was one of seven children. In 1949, she married her teenage sweetheart Reese Emrys Emanuel, and together they raised three daughters. Mary spent many years working as a secretary near her home in Export. After retiring, she and her husband moved to North Carolina were they enjoyed the sunshine, square dancing and spending time with close friends. They eventually returned home to Pennsylvania and have spent the last several years with their children and grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Circleville United Methodist Church.

Jacob Daniel “Snake” Cipriani, age 26, of Port Vue, died May 12, 2017. Born May 23, 1990, in Port Vue, he is survived by his parents Fred and Deborah (Kaminsky) Cipriani. Jake was currently the installation manager, for his brother Luke’s heating and air conditioning company, L. Cipriani Heating and Cooling. He loved to fish, tend the campfire and working with his hands. Jake was always so giving of himself, always there to lend a hand, recently completing remodeling of his brother Luke's house and was currently helping his brother Josh remodel his new home in Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, Jake is survived by brothers, Luke (Kelsey) Cipriani, nephew, Dominic all of Port Vue and Josh Cipriani of Belle Vernon; paternal grandfather, Fred Cipriani, Jr. of Glassport; aunts, Sandie (John) Parrish of Winterville, OH, Jan (Dave) Snyder of Delmont and Donna (Gregory) Rollins of Grand Island, NY; also many cousins and friends. Jean E. Moran, age 97 of Liberty Borough, died May 14, 2017 at home. Born April 9, 1920 in Dravosburg, she was the daughter of the late Hardy and Margaret (Schuch) Sellers, and the sister of the late Harry Sellers. She was the wife of the late Arvid “Bee” Moran who died March 18, 1998. Jean was a graduate of McKeesport High School and Douglas Business School. She went on to work in the Tabulating Department of Westinghouse Air Brake Co. in Wilmerding and G.C. Murphy Co. Home Office. Jean was one of the oldest members of the Liberty Presbyterian Church and Sunday School Class, and was also a member of the Senior Sonshiners of the First Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Oleska of McKeesport; and several nieces. There will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be held at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ray Beard will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp. Norma was an active member of the Elizabeth community. She owned and operated one of the first vitamin and health products retail stores in the Mon Valley, located within her husband’s chiropractic establishment. She was an active member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Mrs. Weston, along with her loving husband, created two recreational homes, the first at Youghiogheny Lake and the second at Seven Springs Resort, where all their friends and family were welcome to enjoy life with the Weston’s. Norma was an avid sportswoman; she was a golfer, water and alpine skier, and bowler. Before raising her children, Norma Jean was ranked #2 in the U.S.A. for duck pin bowling. Norma was always there to brighten the lives of others through her smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Harry E. Lanauze, MD, age 91, of Lincoln Borough, died May 7, 2017, at home with his family by his side. Born August 11, 1925, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Domingo and Hilda (Minor) Lanauze and the husband of Helen (Szymela) Lanauze, for over 46 loving years.
Harry was a retired physician with his family practice based in McKeesport for over 53 years. He was a McKeesport Hospital emergency room physician for over 20 years and practiced medicine there until 2011. Additionally, Harry was a staff doctor at John J. Kane Regional Medical Center, for over 25 years. He was a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Airforce, serving during WWII. Harry completed the Tuskegee Institute Division of Aeronautics 66th Army Air Forces Flying Training Detachment, September 11, 1945. He was a Tuskegee Airman, flying the “Red Tail,” P-51, Mustang. He became a Biology professor after his military service, at Fort Valley State University. Harry then continued his education and received his medical degree from Meharry Medical School, in Nashville, TN. Harry was a humble man despite all his life’s accolades, he truly was self-less, from his military service to dedicating his life to caring for the families of McKeesport for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by children, Dottrele Soffee of Richmond, VA, Harry Lanauze, Jr., of Knoxville, TN, Johil Lanauze of Memphis, TN, Karlyn Coward of McKeesport, Angela (Matt) Moran of Elizabeth and Leslie (Chris) Strub of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by siblings, Domingo and Jose Lanauze.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A blessing service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Daniel Straughn will officiate.

Phyllis J. Herrera, age 94 of Monroeville, formerly of Christy Park, died May 5, 2017, at Manor Care in Monroeville. Born August 6, 1922, in Cambridge, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Corbet) Barthalow and loving wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Herrera.
Phyllis dedicated her life to caring for her family. In her earlier years, she loved hand crafting beautiful afghans for all of her family. Additionally, she always enjoyed working word search puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Sally) Roma of Salem, NH, Jerry (Bonnie) Roma of Houston, TX, Judy Roma of Versailles, Ralph (Nancy) Herrera of Monroeville, whom she lived with for the last 4 years of her life and Nancy Richardson of West Mifflin; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Moldavan and Dorothy Antes.

Margie S. Smyrnes (nee Stoupis) passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 from congestive heart failure, surrounded by family and friends. It would have been her 71st wedding anniversary.
Margie, born in Cleveland, OH on December 5, 1926, was the daughter of Koula Logaras Stoupis and George Stoupis of McKeesport. Her beloved younger brother, Manuel G. Stoupis predeceased her in September 2014.
She was the co-owner, from 1956 to 1989, of the former Flair Cleaners and Home Laundry in White Oak, PA with the love of her life and partner in marriage and business, Michael V. (Mike) Smyrnes who predeceased her in October 2015.
She married her high school sweetheart on May 5, 1946 after graduating co-valedictorian and year book editor of her McKeesport High School class of 1945. Her first job was an executive secretary for the GC Murphy company.
After World War II, Margie and Mike had several business adventures as partners in Paterson NJ, New York City and Canton, OH before moving back to McKeesport and North Huntington, PA.
Always active in the church, Margie was a former choir director of the Greek Church of the Annunciation when it was located in McKeesport. After the parish moved to White Oak in 1966, she was active in the McKeesport International Villiage with her church and was President of its Philoptochos for several years.
As President of the Ridge Road Women’s Club, she spearheaded the effort to raise funds for the purchase of the first modern ambulance for Rescue 8 paramedics in North Huntington.
Margie, despite her full-time work as a business woman, always had time for whoever needed help. She had boundless energy, tenacity, wit, intelligence and sage advice. Her math skills were legendary. Margie was also a Girl Scout troop leader for 10 years.
She enjoyed flying with her husband in his Cessna airplane, sewing, gardening, music, and reading articles on medical research and finance. She was also a good Canasta player.
She is survived by daughters, Peggy (Dr. Karl Williams) Smyrnes-Williams of Squirrel Hill; Kathleen S. (Eric) White of Bradford Woods; and grandson, Michael E.C. Williams of Pittsburgh; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her beloved husband, daughters and their husbands, her absolute joy was her grandson, Michael E.C. Williams. She taught him to play checkers, card and math games and the video game Zelda.
Friends will be received at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Monday May 8th from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Trisagion at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 9th, 10:00 am at the Greek Church of the Annunciation in White Oak with visitation 1 hour prior to service at church. Funeral Services will be co-officiated by Father William Zotis and Father Christopher Bender. Entombment will follow in the Lebanon Chapel Mausoleum.
Remembrances in Margie’s name may be made to the Eye and Ear Research Foundation of the University of Pittsburgh, the Philoptochos of McKeesport, or the American College of Lakota Sioux.

Charles “Babe” Mingo, age 89, of McKeesport, died on May 4, 2017 at home. Born April 18, 1928 in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Paul and Nicoletta (DeMichel) Mingo. He was married to his beloved wife Theresa (DeNardo) Mingo for 68 wonderful years. Charles was retired from Tygart Steel where he was a crane operator. Earlier in life, he worked for Kelsey Hays Wheel Company in McKeesport. Charles was a handyman and took pride in the fact that he remodeled his house by himself. He and his wife belonged to a special group of friends that loved to dance. They would stay up late dancing the night away making memories to last a lifetime. Charles went camping with his family a lot and enjoyed duckpin bowling.
